Agreed. Its also cruel.

(The crowd only get to address the HM's that are up for eviction BTW...not all of them.)

Stupid stupid stupid! The whole idea of Big Brother is to be isolated....they go to such great lengths for them not to see whats happening in the outside world..and by letting them hear the crowd they are getting a massive amount of perception about how each is doing.

They should stick Davina in the George Lucas stage to reveal the results

Anthony - cheers, a few boos
Craig - quiet cheers, few boos mixed in
Derek - mixed, but mostly boos
Kemal - cheers
Lesley - guess
Makosi - cheers
Maxwell - LOTS of cheering!
Roberto - cheers with some booing
Sam - Lots of booing, almost as much as you-know-who
Saskia - Almost as big a cheer as Maxwell.
Science - more boos than cheers
Venessa - lots of booing, but not as harsh as Sam and whatshername.

A fundamental rule of Big Brother is "no contact with the outside world". It's part of the whole isolation/paranoia idea. Why the hell do Endemol ruin this by allowing them to find out exactly how they are being perceived in this way?

But on the other hand, they won't just go for the ones who got boos,...they will also start scheming to try and bring down the popular ones to make them look bad.

So the pros and cons may cancel each other out.
Licking up to Max isn't going to help you win.

I like it, hopefully everyone will think tactically now and all nominate saskia and maxwell putting both of them up against each other

and I bet the popular ones, eg max and sas will get even cockier

Agree. Very bad idea. So much for being isolated from the outside world.

I' don't agree with the hms hearing how popular they are, it allows hms to be picked off. Maxwell, Saskia and Anthony now hold the winning cards.

I'm hoping that Bb has done this and will make eviction more a luck of the draw, otherwise it becomes a farce.

Some of the HMs will try to nominate the ones who got the most boos to pick them off, some of them will try to nominate the ones who got the most cheers to remove the threat. I think they cancel each other out nicely, and anyway it was worth it for the looks on their faces

Whats the betting max and saskia will be up next week with everyone voting tic tacs

Makes for good tv, but stupid so far as the game is concerned. They're supposed to guess why any HM gets evicted - and form their own often deluded conclusions. Right now, they know who's popular and who's not. Half the fun of the show is to see them twist and turn on their own insecurities if they come up for a vote. What now happens next week if Saskia/Maxwell are up against Sam/Vanessa? The former sit smugly certain they're staying, and the latter pack their bags. Dumb move by Endemol.

*This* is what I heard

Quote:
“Sam - Mixed muted cheers and boos 50/50
Science - Muted cheers, no boos”

So hope for Sam yet and Science keeping well under the radar.

If you got booed you'd vote for other people who got booed. You want to be up against someone who got booed as well, not Max or Saskia.

No way if I was in there Id vote for max and saskia so at least one of the most popular goes.

Such a stupid move. In BB1 they went to such lengths to cover up the crowd noise that they played music into the house!

I can't believe the producers did not give Davina strict instructions not to call the names out one by one - for all the reasons stated on this thread.

Do Endemol not take their own rules seriously? Each HM was given a generous helping of contact with the outside world tonight

Craig and Anthony actually didn't get a reception. There were just quiet murmurs of cheers for them both (the crowd was indifferent to Craig this week and last, I don't think he's as hated as the people on here hate him).

And Roberto got just as many boos as Vanessa.

It was kind of a silly idea, though. She should have just said they were all up for eviction and then announced who was going. Now everyone knows who's popular and who's not. So I bet people like Sam, Roberto and Vanessa are going to change their attitudes now. I can also see the less popular housemates trying to mix in with the more popular ones.

*watches Craig ditch Vanessa and join Team Vain-People-Who-Sit-Around-And-Sunbathe*

Usually a sense of paranoia creeps in during the isolation and that's going to be missing from the cheered HMs.

I agree with the various views of how people may respond to their appeal outside. Unfortunately, this will create an artificial situation rather than concentrating on a more natural development of the relationships.

Why are they playing crowd noise into the house now? What's the point? Because they want them not to hear reactions from the outside world??? I think this show is largely run by incompetent teenagers.

That only works if both your nominations are up. If you weren't booed you want to be up against someone who was. If you were booed you want to be up against someone who was. This being so, everyone will vote for someone booed.
