Sorry, LG. Didn't like the reality TV bits. Thought they sucked big time. But then I don't think I was ever going to like them. But that's just me. Was happy when the story moved on from them.

By the way, did anyone else watch with subtitles on? There was a lot of dialogue on the subtitles that wasn't in the speech - especially around the Rose being killed moment.

I guess there was a late editing decision.

I thought this episode was Fantastic (but voted for Very good by mistake, any way to change it???).

I was very surprised when Rose got hit by AnneDroids beam, I thought to myself "that aint right" and I could ahve sworn it would have been the Doctor who got hit.

I should have left this reply till later porbabaly, cos it'll just get wallowed up at the rate these threads grow!!!

Anyway, I await next weeks episode eagerly.

But did you enjoy the episode, despite them?

I like the strategy of giving us a three-parter (Long game / Bad Wolf / Parting) without telling us in advance that it was. In retrospect the Long Game grows in stature.

Not sure if this would be considered a spoiler so just to be safe

Spoiler
If Rose has been teleported then in two episodes this series the Dr has simply used his sonic thingy to bring them back. Why not with Rose?

Yes I noticed this, but it stopped half way through the sentence, so i didnt understand what was meant to have been said
Probably not important though

Because he hadn't realised she HAD been teleported - he genuinely thought she was dead.

What better way than have Adam recreate them - after all, he's not completely human now and must feel a bit excluded. And we have already been introduced to the character of Adam - and he has a grudge.

I think AM speculated about how much groundwork had been laid for series two in this series - I'd say Adam was a very large part of that groundwork.

Supporting the campaign for spoiler-tag free speculation.”

Yes, I was more with the idea that Adam was the originator of the Cybermen, and the groundwork was being laid in this series.

But that voice at the end of tonight's episode did sound like it could have been Adam,..and the Doc's face was looking a bit taken by surprise.

Well...

I didn't think there would be an episode to top Father's Day (I still choke up when I think of that one). I was wrong.

RTD - you can write. So why the 'less good' ones earlier in the series?

Already voted 'FANTASTIC' - no need to wait for repeat, although I missed loads of dialogue coz of the music being too loud but I think it's because I've got my TV audio set on 'film'. I'm going to watch it again on 'voice' so I get all the good bits properly.

Loved:

Rose giggling and goofing because she didn't think the gameshow was serious.

'...Still got enough money for peroxide' (Meeeeeooooowww.)

DW's reaction to 'I was only doing my job'.

DW being the unwitting cause of 100 years of misery on Earth. (Am I right in thinking that no-one on this forum saw that coming? So, unless it was in a spoiler tag somewhere, score another point for RTD...)

'You really don't want to know' (where CJ was hiding his gun - would we have noticed it if the "bum shot" had been left in?)

and so much more...

I strongly expect that the world could come to an end next Saturday at 19:01 and I wouldn't notice (and I'd only care if it came to an end before DW did!).

<obvious joke>
Wouldn't have been the first time he'd had a loaded weapon in there.

Why the praise for RTD's script this week? The Weakest Link setup was ridiculously slow. Captain's Jack's laser gun secreted up his arse was a lame plot getout. The Controller was a rerun of The Long Game. Ho hum, this episode could have been done in 10 minutes screen time, but at least we have the Dalek's saviour to look forward to.... 4/10

What a roller coster! I 'only' gave it a very good though because of the first 5 minutes in the BB house which I thought were a bit rubbish. Loved the rest though. On DW Confidential they showed how they shot full rear view of CJ's nekked ass - but BBC censored it!! I do hope that scene is shown 'uncut' in the DVD ! I liked how RTD explained why he brought in CJ - he needed a 'soldier' because the Doctor and Rose can't be killers.

There is just so much to tie off next week though! CJ's missing 2 years, Adam = Davros?!, the role of the TARDIS. I don't think I can actually wait!! And then nothing till Xmas !

I like the idea that introducing us to reversed teleportation is for a reason.

Spoiler
Obviously killing all the Daleks is something done at one fell swoop by a relatively simple means. He doesn't blast each of the 500,000 individually. Possibly by using Satellite Five's energy beam.

Aah but if it was in a spoiler, then, by definition, you knew rather than guessed, eh? eh? eh? Get out of that (he said in his mock Eric Morecambe voice!). Apart from that - please feel free to go into smug mode!

Oh meh goad - they Daleks

I was literally on the edge of my seat watching the second-half of that, which is something I haven't done for a long time

I'm just catching up at the moment, so will be back

Isn't it great how we all have such different opinions

I personally though the episode was brilliantly done throughout and wouldn't have chaned anything.

It was about 80% speculation and 20% spoilers appearing to confirm what we thought!

Having inadvertantly channel surfed onto Big Brother 'highlights' I am now thinking that killing the housemates when they are evicted is actually a very sound, albeit non PC, way of dealing with these reality TV people!

And yes, I know I have digressed!

I hope all is revealed next week. I'm moving to America before Christmas and I won't be able to watch it if it's a cliffhanger

Thought it was a fantastic episode. And I wasn't sure about CJ but now I like him. I guess i just had to get used to 2 companions for the Doctor.

I'm not really speculating but I've heard a lot about Davros and the emperor Dalek. As a DW newbie I've never heard of them so if they do bring them into it then I hope they explain a bit about them. (Sorry if that sounded stupid)
or like someone else posted intergrate it into the present series with Adam or someone else. I kind of hope they do that so that I know what Bad Wolf means at the end of it.

I used to be a huge fan of BB - I got hooked in BB2 when I knew one of the housemates - but I have got so bored with it over the last coupleof years and can't get into this years at all.

I'm sure exterminating most of this years inhabitants would be a positive contribution to society
