He certainly has put Doctor Who firmly back on the forefront of the TV schedules again and whipped up the media into a frenzy.

The more difficult task now lies ahead. Matching the expectations and success of series one with series two. The media in particular will scrutinise it even more when it returns next year.

Gonna repost these in the proper thread here, as if there's a DS prize for guessing correctly (possibly a DVD Boxset?), then best be in with a chance...

Speculation on the plot...

Do think the whole Adam and his "third eye" scenario would be too good an opportunity to miss. Likewise, the return of the Dalek from episode #6. If I were writing it, I'd involve them both. Now that would be a "WOW" twist!

Curious line in "Dalek", just after the Pepperpot downloads the Internet, it says "the Daleks survive in me". Smacks of an RTD addition, as it contradicts statements the Dalek makes afterwards.

So I'd twist it so the Dalek transported rather than disintegrated. Adam, learns where it is via the JaffaBurst's Satellite-5 databanks he downloaded, and back home uses his knowledge via Geocomtex to develop the way to reach it. His partner for the mission is Captain Jack. In the meantime, the Dalek has learned to block effects of Rose's DNA enough to begin a new Dalek race. A race without the DNA infection it itself suffers from. It becomes the Emperor Dalek. Adam and Jack try to do business. Emperor isn't interested, but attempts to use their DNA to cure its "sickness". Orders his few Dalek drones to experiment with Adam. Jack escapes. Their mission fails. Back home he has his memory wiped. Dalek experiments with Adam are unsuccessful, but leave him more Dalek than Human. Emperor orders Daleks to head for Earth and continue to experiment with Human DNA while work continues on creating a conquering army. Doctor detects army. Plans change to begin the invasion. Lasers. Explosions. Blah-blah. Jack's memory returns. The Doctor, Jack and Rose all discover they each had a part to play in creating current events and Earth's destruction. They blame each other. After failing to stop the Daleks or save Rose, the Doctor remembers his mobile phone. He contacts Rose and asks her to re-infect the Dalek race once again, before everything they know and care about is obliterated...

... or something like that...

Anyone know Russell? Perhaps the winner gets a part in Season #2? I have no worries about showing my naked butt!

And on "Bad Wolf"...

The Doctor is THE Doctor and he's also the Big Bad Wolf. Why? Because he caused the fate of his people. He blew their houses down. The "Bad Wolf" messages have been left there either by himself, or the Tardis, just to try and get himself out of a time-loop. Anyone remember the ST episode where the Enterprise is destroyed by colliding with another starship coming out of a wormhole, gets stuck in a time-loop, and Data keeps seeing the number "3"? Same principle. He can correct this timeline, but he won't until he realizes he's the Big Bad Wolf and what these "Big Bad Wolf" subliminal messages mean. Once he gets it (sees the three pips in Data's case on ST), he can correct his mistake.

Make sense?

The mysterious voice has to be Davros, the Emperor Dalek would have the same staccato speech pattern as a regular dalek, but Stavros doesn't. As for people saying he wouldn't be introduced as new viewers wouldn't understand who he is, remember that Rose "represents" the new viewers, and is in the series to ask the questions that they would be asking, and the answers she receives provide the exposition that enable them to understand who's who (sorry!) and what's going on (The Cybermen have been introduced to new viewers this way in "Dalek").

Some people are speculating that Adam will become Davros. Rubbish! Davros was the kaled scientist who created the Daleks (The Tom Baker story "Genesis Of The Daleks" covers all of this. Choice quote from The Doctor: "Kaled? why, thats an anagram of... oh") and I can't see how they could segue that.

No not Davros. let's give RTD a little bit more credit than that! Aside from the crazed old Davros fans ( but not including those even older (and crazier) Dalek Supreme fans ), no one would be satisfied if it turned out to be Davros. If you go to great lengths to keep an ending secret, as the BBC have done, you want that ending to be worthy. Wheeling out Davros would be just too predictable. The butler never, ever does it.

Butlers and Davros aside (probably) -
In today (Monday)'s trailer,
Spoiler
sounded like a quite different voice to Saturday's trailer
Spoiler
which was much lower pitched. Of course this could just come under the heading of Fun with Pitch Shifters - or maybe the
Spoiler
really does sound rather like
Spoiler
- does to me, anyway, but then I am of addled brain, having spent far too long mulling, rather than getting a nice sensible early night so I can get some gardening done at early light when the plants aren't as much at risk from strong sunlight if I water them in properly. See! See! I have a life away from this board! I go all the way downstairs, out into the garden, and do things! And then I rush upstairs and check for new posts! And right now it sounds like the foxes need feeding again, so I should attend to them, as there's been some howling... At least, I think it was foxes...

I've done my own bit of pitch correction on the voice - It sounds like Briggsy and his ring modulator to me, which means Dalek, and probably a great big be-piped one. The speech pattern many sound more fluent because of the DNA contaminant.

I'm with you on that one. I'm loving the - you can't introduce Davros - argument. Highly amusing.

Davros (to the doc): You're stuffed this time mate.
Rose (to the doc): Who's that?
The Doc (to Davros): Shut it wheelie-boy... (to Rose)... He's Davros.
Rose (to the doc): What's a Davros?
The Doc: He invented the Daleks.
Rose (to Davros): You're a bad man.

It's about as easy as CJ reading the Hayes Manual for the Tardis. And 8 year-olds will fully grasp it.

Sadly, I think it's Adam. Scooooby Doooooby Dooooooo.

I don't think a Greek Arsenal Supporting Kebab Seller is going to turn out to be you know what - besides it would have introduced itself by saying "hello peeps".

of course you can introduce davros, probably easier than you can introduce the master at this stage; the conversation described above is a lot easier than

rose (to doctor) : Who's That
Doctor : That's the Master.
Master (waving to rose) : Hello!
rose : hi.. so who are you again?

... and if davros is linked to a character we have already met in the series, then so much the better for continuity purposes...

Who was returned to 2012 with a chip in his head that would allow him to download anything once the computer systems changed, which they were due to in 2019.

It probably will be the Dalek from episode 6 but I do think that Adam is as much in the frame.
1) Bankers = Bank of England = Face of BoE = Bankers

2) What did the Dalek in ep 6 DOWNLOAD to the internet and who will have had the capability to find it & act on it - hint someone who had lots of knowledge about alien artifacts.

PS did anyone else have the hairs stand up when the Daleks started saying "Worship Him"

The last bit looked as if it could be moving down a ramp, but not very clear on a tiny screen.

Do you remember the days when they only had a few daleks and they had to go round and round to make it look like a lot, and coloured ones appeared after a while? Those were the days.

Anyone think UNIT might be back? The site says about finding unexploded bombs, in London, marked SCHLECHTER WOLF. Be cool if they were

Try doing it in full screen mode - the clip starts with a long shot of the Dalek fleet then switches POV giving oodles of space flying Daleks
