HOPING FOR "SATURDAY WET". Keep the viewers inside, out of the rain, and watching a certain show...

But it's going to be very warm this weekend...so expect 6.5 million viewers - unless the BBC pull their fingers out and continue to flood the neTwork with trailers for the finale...

well im guessing that most of the series has averaged around 7.5 million viewers; i cannot imagine that people would invest that much time only to miss the finale..

the way the bbc is promoting it too, there is no way that you could forget that it is on, i think the viewing figures will be superb, given that we are expecting glorious weather this weekend

plus i havent checked but itv are probably showing "When Celebrities Watching Pain Dry From Hell Goes Wrong" or some such against it, so it should all be fine....

my mistake, i have checked the listing and they are showing "Beverley Hills Cop"....

Just a note but in this months issue of SFX. They show a photo of CE turning into DT. Don't know if this is an SFX doctored pic (excuse the pun) or whether it is a BBC photo.

After all these years waiting for a new series of Dr Who, isn't it great there's so much speculation and interest in the final episode of this series?

It's great that the BBC is doing all of these build-up trailers ahead of the final episode on Saturday.

My suspicions are:

Spoiler

The Emperor Dalek will be the 'last Dalek' from Episode 6
Adam will still be on the Game Station - in fact, he never left! He's been stuck there for 100 years and the Doctor delivered an evil duplicate back to his home (the Daleks are big into duplicates)
DT will be seen at the end of the episode in the regeneration scene (there HAS to be one) - but it may well be that Rose/Captain Jack don't see the Doctor change
There will be a big surprise about Captain Jack. He's going to have a major link to either the Doctor or Rose. I'm not sure which.
Lynda will turn out to be a Dalek agent
the Doctor realises all the new Daleks are made up from the humans 'evicted' from the Big Brother house etc on Game Station and somehow re-awakens their human brains to stop the invasion.

I bet at least 80% of the above are totally wrong (if not all of it) but thought I'd throw my ideas into the pot with everyone else.

It's like I'm six years old again, wishing the week away to get to Saturday evening and Doctor Who!

Badwolf must be green.

If he was red then he would be a Tension Sheet (Red Dwarf 3:5)
"It's just the stuff they used to use in packing paper. All he did was to paint it red and cut it into small squares."

In firefox it shows - perhaps it's the bullet pointing as all other spoilers are invisible

sorry guys. I did check it before it went up and it looked fine. Maybe the mix of spoiler tag and bullet points doesn't work.

Anyway, I've removed the bullet points so hopefully those of you who could see the text cannot now see it now. They aren't really spoilers anyway - just speculation.

Could someone explain to me about the regeneration in Dr Who please? I can't really remember much about the previous series so haven't a clue what it all means and why it happens

Thanks

basically timelords have 13 lives, and rather than dying at the end of their life, they regenerate into a different form.. although the memories and history of the doctor remains the same, the personality and physical characteristics can be markedly different.. the process of regeneration is relatively quick, but there is quite a long recovery time afterwards.. doctors have been sick or confused for some time after regeneration

some regens have been enforced (ie pat troughton into john pertwee as a result of a trial and an enforced exile on earth) but most come as the result of what would otherwise be a normal "death" ie Falling of a Radio Tower, Radiation Poisoning etc etc

All Time Lords have 13 lives. When they sustain a "fatal" injury, or reach the end of their natural span for that incarnation, they regenerate into a new body.

The Time Lord council can force a regeneration if they see fit (this is what happened when Troughton regenerated into Pertwee), and they can also grant a Time Lord more regenerations (another set) as offered to the Master in the 5 Doctors.

Some nice thoughts. Since Rose (mistakingly) gave the lone Dalek some of her DNA and therefore a little humanity by touching it, maybe:

Spoiler
it's her that re-awakens their human brains?

well i suppose if you are engaged in the business of saving the universe on a regualr basis, these sorts of demises become merely an occupational hazzard!

As promised earlier in the week, by the BBC, the Badwolf website has been updated.

I has some more bits in the the theories section and a new UNSOLVED section with bits from RTD on it.

Dont know if anyone has posted this, but RTD says in Whats on TV Magazine that
Spoiler
David Tennant is in the final episode. He also says the episode will NOT end on a cliffhanger, but will leave questions to be answered in the Christmas Special. He says next year will feature "Cybermen" and that the regeneration had been planned for ages and filmed a long time ago. He says it would have been a secret until it appeared on screen, making the "Time is up" adverts all the more exciting, because people were not meant to know he was leaving.

To quote RTD:
Quote:
“Judging from the reactions I've had, a lot of people seem to think the Bad Wolf has already been revealed. Oh, it's the TV station. Oh, it's half a million Daleks. I've even got one friend claiming it's the Face of Boe! I must get better friends.”

Maybe it's someone you don't expect:
Spoiler
Micky, Rose or even Jacqui!
