Oh I dunno, I think it's given the CE Dr a certain pathos for most of the series - he's been bustin' a gut to save people and worlds all series and we've known he's doomed.

Exactly, but also the BBC shouldnt have been puched. They had an agreement with Chris, they should have just told them that no contacts were being delt with yet or something.

in the 'long game' adam says to rose 'i'll be on the deck' (where the tardis was parked) so rose gives him a tardis key telling him to go in there if it all gets too much... he walks off with the key smirking. i reckon he pops back in time and brings the emporer dalek to satellite 5 which, in 'bad wolf', the dr says things all started going wrong. so adams knowledge of 20th century reality tv, plus dalek technology helped recreate the dalek empire.

in the reality tv games on satellite 5 people were transported somewhere... i think this was to a dalek ship where they were used to create more daleks... or something like that.

We've been told he's doomed. The long game has been one of media manipulation... Wouldn't it be great if...

There's a fine line between keeping plot twists a secret and leaving the audience with a feeling they've been duped. It's the main reason I'm not convinced by the Ecclescake-isn't-the-Dr-at-all line of thinking. It'd be a bit Bobby Ewing. The denouement has to be straightforward enough for a mainstream Saturday teatime audience of kids and wimmin to "get" without having the encyclopaedic knowledge of a geek savant, and cosistent with the emotional attachments they've formed through investing in the series (part of which is the powers that be in the production telling them that CE is off).

If the audience thinks you've been dicking with them too much, they won't bother to invest their suspension of disbelief for a second series.

Speaking of the press spoiling everything, the bbc embargo on printing screenshots of "the god of all daleks" ends at 12.01am tomorrow, and are expected in all thursdays papers according to several sources on the OG forums.

So I wouldn't look at em if you don't wanna know....

The forums over at OG are buzzing with activity now after the revelation about the God of all Daleks, came as no suprise to me though, as being a long term fan i recognised the voice instantly!

Apoligies to ethel_wombat for getting he/she's hopes up! Thought it was funny at the time!

It's "it", not he or she

I did the same on another thread with a spoiler of "......" and a suggestion that CE had done something physically impossible

AND DON'T TELL US WHO THE GOATD IS, DEATH BY MARGARET SLITHEEN TO THE FIRST PERSON/DALEK/CYBERMAN/YETI WHO REVEALS IT

Is it significant that 'the voice' says "God of all Daleks' rather than 'God of all the daleks' or God of the Daleks'?

Does that imply that the voice belonged to a specific dalek rather than a non-dalek that ruled the daleks?
(The voice was rather dalek-like also)

Who (haha) or whatever it is it has to be something recognisable to people who have only ever seen this series of DW.

So I would say it's a person or thing (please not Margaret Slitheen) who appeared in more than one episode and it can't be a Dalek because they all look alike

i agree that the god of the daleks has to be a character featured in the series, otherwise new fans of the show would most likely feel betrayed; i still like the idea of the doctor being an imposter, one who has manipulated events to reach this end; every action he has taken through the series (i am especially thinking of the closing of the gateway in TUD and allowing the dalek to "kill itself" in dalek) might have been to ensure that the final attack is a success...

this fits in with john barrowman's description of his character as an "adversary", as well as explaining what i see as a lack of positive action on his part, and a tendency to leave other situations unresolved.. of course whether the doctor knows he is not the genuine article is another matter..

in this scenario as i have posted before, the "real doctor" IE DT returns in the final episode to fight alongside CJ and Rose against the imposter doctor and the daleks...

then again, maybe not?

That would be a "Bobby Ewing coming out of the shower" moment and a leap too far.

The Doctor is is the Real McCoy, it's his actions that will turn out to have been Bad Wolf
