Will E4 Learn From Their Mistakes Last Year?
Double Cream

Hi There.

After watching BB2 LIVE on E4 last year i and im sure you lot can remember the annoying sound drop outs during day and sometimes at night.

Would E4 do something different this year do you think?

It would be good if they could come up with something.

It would, but I'm sure some parts of the conversation would still be cut as the restrictions against offensive language in daytime viewing, defamation against companies etc. still apply.

That's the problem with it being during the day. It has to be censored. Maybe if they could use the pin function on sky(and on cable if they have one) they could have an uncensored version.

They still would not be allowed to air people slagging off companies etc.

It say's in the Big Brother press release that there will be sound drop outs on E4 this year to " comply with ITC guidelines" . . . Hopefully they won't use train noises this time!.

Or birds for the early morning one! They could just have nothing or have short peices of music of somesort?

Anythings better than trains!

the american bb2 was much worse for editing, they just showed the front of the house for minutes on end with the theme tune running over and over. train noises are much preferrable.

I wonder if they will be promoting Railtrack this year?
I'm worried that EVERY train was ON the rails..
No reports of any crashes there... hmm

I remember BB1 was transmitted on one of the obscure Eutelsat satellites with full sound for quite a few weeks, as a feed. That was fun, until they cut the sound completely towards the end.

I thought the train and bird noises were quite well done in BB2, blended in nicely. If they cut to music or silence it'll be a lot more obvious.

I don't think the choice of those elements as ambient background noise was a concious one though; the train noise was purely there as the house was near a Tube station, I think.

The potential for silence is there as the house is rather in isolation at the Elstree film lot.

Last year broadcasting live nearly 24 hours a day would have been such a learning curve for the producers of Big Brother. It was bad last year and at time very annoying. Surely this year they will have a focused team into live editing making it faster to have the conversations back from those train noises that we all hate......oh I'd like to think so.

Especially towards the end (Alison was lying in her adverts). They must have thought the prime culprit Jade was going to get kicked out before the end.
