Has your screen changed from One 2 One to T-Mobile?

Mine hasn't. I've got a Samsung A300.

If yours has, what type of phone is it? How did the update take place? (Text Message etc)

I thought, in older Nokia's at least, it's built into the phone's hardware? I still have a Nokia brick lying around somewhere that will tell you it's on "Cellnet" when switched on.

Mine changed on the day one2one changed its name. I have an Ericsson T39. However this is a very anvanced phone much more so than the Nokias and Smasungs out there so maybe thats why. I switched it on and it said T-Mobile

It doesnt have UK on like some of the other phones which have updated. However if you do a network search its till says one2one

Ooo, that does sound advanced. But can it unpack Unix-type compressed tar files like my Nokia?

Nope, my Nokia 6210 still says one to one.

I think the name change is daft anyway.

But it isn't as daft as BT CellNet becoming 02, which is the chemical symbol of Ozone. Imagine, we could now have an advertising slogan of "prices so high that they are through the Ozone layer!".

O is the chemical symbol for oxygen
O2 is the way oxygen travels in the air and
O3 is the o-zone layer

I think this is right - I hope it is, I have GCSE's in a few weeks

Yes oxygen tends to bond with itself in the air to form O2

I have 2 one2one phones - one is now showing T-Mobile, after I switched it off to swap the battery while in west London, but the other one still shows one2one, even though I have switched it off and on, but that was in east London. So it seems that it depends on switching it off and on, but also where you are when you do that

Yes, that does seem an odd name change. It struck me as meaning "Orange number 2" which is either an admission of inferiority to a rival service or a worrying digestive complaint.

I think you'll find its probably an issue with updating the base stations.

Sooner or later one 2 one will change to T-Mobile on your handset, and BT Cellnet will go to 02.

I have received an email from T-Mobile customer service saying they are updating the screens via the network. They started doing this on April 18th and are doing it over a seven week period. So should happen soon then?!

BTW mine hasn't yet!

Neither has mine or any of my friends!

This is what their email said to me:

Thank you for your email about the T-Mobile logo.

From 18th April, we started to change all network logos to reflect our brand T-Mobile. The updates are taking place over a seven-week period and are being actioned via the network.

We can assure you that your logo will change within this period.

Yup. Their reasoning behind this is, we need oxygen to stay alive, just as much as we need a moblie phone. Apparently.

sorry for not reporting it, but my nokia 3310 changed about two weeks ago. i got a text message titles ">pers" and i opened it and it was just a system message,, so i switch the phone off, and hten on again and it sed T-mobile !!!

not that i care coz i bought a virgin sim pack the other day and my number is being ported over to them today ! BYE BYE "T-mobile,,,,, BYE BYE crappy new tariff"

btw. i bought my nokia 3310 on on2one on PAYG in the middle of march 2001, and it accepts a virgin sim card fine, so if ure phone was bought aroudn that time, it should work if u want to use virgin instead. and its free to port ure number as well! good ol virgin!
