I'm in the process of switching from O2 online to Virgin at the moment. Just waiting for my number to port over.
The move is mainly because Virgin bundles will work out cheaper but its also a brand I trust, the call quality is loads better & customer service brilliant. Infact, just thinking about it, they are the mobile company I always find myself going back to after various contracts with Vodafone and experiences with other mobile phone companies. So yes, I'd say the switch to Virgin is the better option, plus if you use all of the 800 text messages it is probably way cheaper than O2 & even if you don't they roll over to next month. |

According to my rusty maths the virgin bundle works out at 2.4p per text and the T-Mobile 3p
So the Virgin one is cheaper per text Though Virgin's bundles only roll over for one month |

Does it have to be PAYG or would/could you consider getting a contract?
On O2 Online, you can get 1000 text and 400 anyone anytime minutes for £45 per month AND a free good spec phone. Minutes roll over one month, texts don't. (IIRC, anyway). If you are making many calls especially to other networks, this WILL work out cheaper than any PAYG. I have this contract but pay £40 per month for it not £45 as I haggled at upgrade time! ![]() GC PS. If you don't get a phone as part of the deal, you get double texts and minutes for the same price. So that's 1000 texts/400 mins for £30 and 2000 texts/800 mins for £45. |
