I think BB5 brought the end of Big Brother as a reality tv show which showed (relatively) normal people interacting with each other and seeing how human behaviour works. Don't get me wrong, I loved BB5, but after that there was no going back to the HMs of BB1-4. This year the characters are bigger, more outrageous, more self obsessed than ever, and next year they'll have to be even bigger again.
I don't think the likes of Anna, Craig, Brian, Dean, Helen, Kate - hell, take your pick - would stand a cat in hells chance this year. If Sam goes on Friday this will prove to the producers that we don't want regular people with faults, subtleties, behaviour that can't be put in a box (no pun intended

) - we want pantomine villians, divas and caricatures. We'll never get another Anna, Helen, Nush, Steph or Shell. Some people might be happy about that, but it is the quieter characters, those who keep the house stable, that give the others the spotlight. Could you honestly see Brian making an impression on this lot? He'd be lost in the mayhem, arguments and egocentric "normality".
I still enjoy BB, but its now a completely different show - how long before we get actors to play the parts?
