The pin code you forgot. http://www.o2.co.uk/puk/landing/0,,5...lock+My+Mobile
Look there to unblock your phone. |

You're propably best contacting SonyEricsson direct, rather than O2 if it's the phone lock code that you cant remember. It doesn't have to be a 4 digit number either, it could be up to 8 digits. Try this page...

the only way you can reset the codes is by using a t28 service cable and a software which will clear the codes and put them back to the default.

or send it off to SE and get them to do it - at least thats what I did with my Siemens & they didn't charge. (sent it to Siemens though, not SE. That would be silly)

Well, you can probably pick a cable up from ebay for about £5, not sure how much the software will cost, though if you search on the interweb-hiway you might find some freeware software.
The only problem with doing it yourself is that if something goes wrong you can end up ruining your phone (appart from forgetting the phone code the only other time I've had to return my phone was when I did this while trying to unlock it, so I know how easy it is to do )The other option would be see if a local independant retailer that deals in unlocking can reset the codes for you. I believe some of the unlocking clips they use can also reset codes. |

....And a new phone is probably a couple of hundred quid if you don't know what you are doing!
If you have no experience in unlocking a phone via cable, take it to a local unlocker and see if they can do it cheaper than the fee quoted by Sony |

If you have no experience in unlocking a phone via cable, take it to a local unlocker and see if they can do it cheaper than the fee quoted by Sony 1- charge the battery up fully, 2- turn the phone off and take the sim out, 3- replace the battery, 4- conect the cable up to the phone and pc, 5- open the software, select the phone and the port the cable is conected to, 6- tick, unlock and clear user codes and press do jobs 7- press the power on button when prompted and there you are done. |

From what it seems the cables are easy to operate. The t28 service cable on ebay is £8.00. however you have to buy `Credit` for them each time. I might go for the terminator dongle which is about £12-£15. I guess this will reset the phone aswell?
