With then end of series 1 imminent Its time to look forward to the future. So heres the game;
If you wre writing The next two series what would you write? Whatstory arcs would you like to see? new foes old foes (the Bace of Foe) New assistants? several assistants? Another regeneration? Get yor thinking caps on. Perhaps write a synapsis of the episodes. I am sure we all have some great ideas

not another regeneration, but id like to see maybe an expansion of the auton storyline? and the return of travelling to exotic planets, there is no limit to the imagination now that the CGI is top notch.

Ok personally I'd like to see lots of new ideas. As someone some where said, I'd like to see if DW can retain it's street cred without the help of the Daleks, in fact i'd like to see it move forward not bad. That means keeping old enemies down to a minimum: No Master, no Cybermen, no Ice Warriors or sea Devils, no Rani, no Davros, no Black Guardian, etc.

I realise that this won't be a very popular suggestion but I'd like to see the series proove itself with new material, and perhaps save the old characters for very special occasions sometime in the distant future.

This is not a criticism of season one, BTW, which was excellent. In fact, in season 1, the only old enemies to appear were the Daleks and the Autons, and I think the Daleks were absolutely necessary anyway to get the series going on such a strong footing, especially after the intense media pressure.

Yes I hope their will be more exotic planets. I would have enjoyed seeing them travel to Raxacoricofallapatorious to deliver the Slitheen Egg. I also think there is more mileage out of Slitheen and there fued with the othe Families (the Blathereen).
I would also like to see another assistant. Someone alien but humanoid (like Nyssa) with a special ability. i would like them to do a story on the forest of Cheem

And we know the cybermen are involved, I would quite like to see the last four parts being about the cybermen. Perhaps individual stories blanketed by an overall arc leading to the season finale

yeah i believe the cybermen are back next season? anyway i agree with what zeus said , with that the daleks were needed to get WHO off to a great start. they just need to create some new brilliant aliens with their own worlds

So weve come to the end and DT is now the doctor.

I hope they wont use the 'looking into the heart of the tardis' as the way of ending all enemies.

Yeah they are and some people are aying that they might being going to the start, a la Genisis of the Daleks and we meet their creator, which leaves a space for Adam to return perhaps.

I'd lie to see a special with a former Doctor...maybe McCoy or McGann. From what I have seen ("The Three Doctors" and "The Five Doctors") this works quite well and provides some interresting storylines.

Definatly take us away from Earth for a bit though, I want to see some alien worlds and other Galaxies.

Now that the doctor has a different appearance, and so maybe a different attitude (not too different, I hope) maybe Mickey will join them in the Tardis, either temporarily or permanently.

Plenty of loose ends, but hope they can come up with lots of new ideas. I had high hopes of Lynda with a Y becoming a regular companion.

Definitely.

I think the Autons were unceremoniously pissed against the wall.

They were a foe that many viewers felt had been underused in Doctor Who, and I believe that they were the 4th most popular foe of the Doctor (After Daleks, Cybermen, and Zygons).

But what we got was a short bit of them at the start of the opening episode which was ruined a bit by Graham Norton's voice,...and about a minute near the end where they were just "body-popping" as people around them seemed to fall over and die for no apparent reason.
We must have got about 5 minutes of them, tops.

What an utter waste.

Personally I think that they should have swapped the Auton's around with the Slitheen.
The Slitheen having a poor comedy story as a two-parter. Did they really merit that?

They could have wasted the Slitheen on the half story that the Autons got in epsiode 1,...and Given the Autons the two parter in AOL/WW111.

Me too! I thought Jo Joyner played her beautifully and those looks between her and the Doctor were electric. Definitely someone I could've seen as a companion.

It'd be great if Jo Joyner were in it again, she was great, very different to No Angels. Meanwhile I'd like to see DW work with the makeup guys who worked on Farscape, and let's have the Doctor and his companions face the Scarans - obviously copyright, costs etc will mean this won't happen, but they would be great baddies to introduce.

Apparently the Cybermen will be back, and there will be some alien planets, which is one thing I thought was really missing from the first series. I hope they make more 2-parters as the pacing of the stories felt much better than cramming too much into 45 minutes.

And I'd like to see them stumble into Captain Jack's "missing" 2 years...

Also, now that they are free to plan for both series 2 and 3 I'd like to see a story-arc that covered both so that the series 2 finale could be a cliffhanger rather than wrapping everything up. But then if they actually did that, I'd probably be cursing them as the credits rolled for making me wait to find out what happens next!

No doubt Adam will be back, it's too convenient to have him hanging around on Earth with all that knowledge.

And I would happily double my licence fee if they'll promise not to bring back those zip-headed things. IMO those Downing Street episodes nearly ruined what was otherwise a great, great series.

I think they need to travel through TIME and SPACE more - this series was too earth bound, and too much within our recent time frame

A long term foe like scorpius would be fantastic.

What about a robotic/electronic assistant. Not so much K9 but I thought Chamelion was a wasted character

Or ( and I know the idea has been done to death) a telepath- like Cally from blakes 7

Dunno about that, but we could have a 'four doctors special' with DT, CE PM and SM. We havent had a 'four doctors episode yet.

Perhaps it will involve The Master being released form the tardis.

the reason that this was is because RTD said that the show needed to be introduced to the new generation and that going wildly in space can be dangerous when bringing a show like DR WHO back, i'm with u, i would have loved space episodes. They will appear in S2, i assure u!!

Hopefully the quarry (whichever planet you want...) won't make an appearance.
