Orange PAYG sales con

Hi,

Both myself and my wife have had calls on our Contract Orange phone from a company called Dragon Mobile trying to make out that we have PAYG phones and that they could come up with a better deal. The calls come from a mobile number as they seem to give Orange mobiles to their sales staff to make the calls with. Part of the sales pitch seems to make out that they have access to the Orange database as they say that they can see from our records that we spend between £10 and £15 per month on topping up the phone.

Both our phones are registered with the TPS and yet this company still calls. A complaint has been lodged with the TPS.

Yes, had them myself on Orange PAYG and did register with TPS but still got them... Think time cold calling for mobile phones should be stopped. If people want a new phone or contract they will make a choice when in suites them.

PLEASE make a complaint to the TPS. More complaints, more fines. Let's see if we can get these companies fined out of business. If there was some honesty in the sales techniques, then I wouldn't have so much hate towards companies. In this case, Dragon Mobile have broken the law and I think it is a criminal offence to brake the Data Protection Act. If you are registered with the TPS, it makes it a DPA issue.

Yes sure will, I think also there is posts with websites around that lists these numbers so you can put them in your phone book to avoid.
