I really think you'll see it soon... it's just a nice wee advert, gives a quick resume of the last 13 weeks, nice and neat. Hopefully the lovely people at bbc.co.uk will put it on the site soon.

No, they're five weeks away from filming the Christmas episode so all the footage featuring Tennant has already been seen (ie the regeneration).

Sorry, I couldn't resist - I was referring to this:

"Midway through the 12-chapter story "The Daleks' Master Plan" in which lead actor William Hartnell breaks the fourth wall to wish viewers a Merry Christmas."

As always Den, you're an education in posting format! Haven't seen much Hartnell, certainly haven't seen that! Sounds like it might have been great in the innocent 60s, but hopefully not to be repeated now.

Do they still do that nauseating thing in the US where at the end of the Christmas episodes the Cast all grin to camera and say "Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all our viewers from the Cast and Crew of..." Thankfully it was always excised once it got this side of the Atlantic

I have definitely seen that - I think sometimes they let it slip through the net over here. I did actually spend Xmas over there once, and the people I was staying with did actually have the roaring log fire channel on, and not in any kind of ironic sense.

Not too sure about DT (or RTD) breaking the fourth wall though - might look too much like a cue for the Ice Capades to come whizzing on singing 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas', but then again, anything is possible in the magical world of Who

Of course, William Hartnell's Doctor may have gotten away with that because we were a lot less cynical in those days. Until recently we all would indulge in the odd smaltz fest. The last time I felt Christmassy was when "Bernard and The Genie" was broadcast. These days we're all so savvy, that we forget the innocence of childhood, Christmas is the worst time of the year for us, but once upon a time we all believed. If RTD can give us even a taste of that, then I would be more than happy to marry him and have his babies, and I'm a 36 year old straight man.

Can't wait for this episode!! I'm just off to reset the countdown thingy I've got - let's say 25 December, 2005, 8pm, perhaps?
---------------------------------
Now, on a less serious note:

"On the first day of Christmas, the Time Lords sent to me
A TARDIS and a spare key"

Is it safe to assume that the xmas special won't be set right after season ones final then? and that we won't get to see Tennant taking his first steps as the Dr, nor Roses interaction on the Wtf is going on scale? as Tennant would be a good few months set in as the Doctor now...aww was hoping to see all that.

I guess it depends on where DT and Rose go directly after the action in TPOTW. There's nothing to stop them going backward or forward in time to a Christmas, particularly if the Tardis has her own agenda again. I'd love to see the settling in phase - and there could well be a comment about the Doctor's new ears, too

I'd lay odds that Rose wants to spend Christmas with Jackie, The Doctor's never had a family Christmas...cue amusing scene where Jackie confronts DT in dismay cause she fancied CE more...then a disturbing threat emerges that no one suspected at this festive time...(and no, not the ITV scheduling panel with Celebrity Love Island at Christmas)

... and if they extend it through to Hogmanay, La Guardianista may well get her wish for DT in a kilt - which might cheer Jackie up as well, particularly after a couple of pints of Baileys and Babycham.

Because what's worn under the kilt? (altogether now...)
