How times change. It was an embarresment to the BBC last time it was on - Now they are trailing the Christmas Special in June. Surly this is the Jewl in the BBC's crown now!

Times have changed indeed, back in 89 it was put up against corrie, basically to kill it off. 2005 and their trailing the Christmas episode in June. Has any other show been advertised so early?

Bugger, it's gonna be a long summer and autumn, roll on Christmas!

Indeed, there's now a rumoured Saturday episode of Coronation Street being rumoured to go up against DW in the ratings next Spring to revive ITV's poor Saturday Night showing this time round

Good link to the David Tennant website there. Saw the main pic of DT there (not seen anything by the guy before), and thought "yeah, that could work" - then saw the Radio Times where he's pictured as the Doc next to Chris Eccleston, and I thought "Nooooooooooooooooo!" - Chris, rugged, heroic - David, boyband, girly. That and the "upper-class twit of the year" accent? "Nooooooooooooooooooo!" (repeat ad infinitum).

Another item there about each series being 13 episodes and 2 Christmas specials. Either a mistake, or the Christmas show is gonna be a two-parter, perhaps?

It's probaby because your net connections not fast enough. That link is a stream from the BBC site, and not an actual download.

If you download Net Transport from here: http://www.xi-soft.com/download.htm you can save the stream, as a video file, on your hard disk.

"Upper class twit of the year" - that's what I thought about Tom Baker's accent when I heard it for the first time, a few weeks ago

Maybe they'll show Santa as a baddie on Xmas Eve, before concluding it on Xmas Day

Yeah, that's what I heard too. Tennant website claims different.

From a merchandising point of view - makes sense to make it a two-parter. They're never gonna shift a DVD of a single episode. 90-minute story - different matter.

They'll probably stick this christmas's special in with the box-set for series 2.

As far as I know the Christmas special is supposedly an hour long episode.
As for DVD release I wonder if the Beeb might wait until both specials have aired, and then release both on one DVD. Unless it was cheap I think they'd have a hard time justifying just 1 Hour long episode + extras, but both would be ok.

Yes, it was like, "Oh, what shall I watch? Ivy Tilsley and Don Brennan in the Rovers, or Doctor Who?"

Yes, it will be a long Summer and Autumn, before any new Doctor Who comes along again. I just hope that the next series is better than the last. I was going to get The Complete Series 9 box-set, even though I've already got Series 9 Part 1 and Series 9 Part 2, plus the Husbands of River Song Sperately. The box set has a lot of extras not on Parts 1 and 2. But I thought, "I'm not going to bother. The last series was not all that, compared with past ones."

I don't really think I'm missing all that much, when you think of it. It's only trailers and a couple of short documentaries after all.

Apparently Peter Kay has an exciting role to play in one of the upcoming episodes, Russell T Davies called it an "absorbing" performance. Can't wait for this gem.

This Tennant guy will never take off though. #BringbackEccleston. #MakeWhogreatagain

Have I time travelled back to 2005, or has someone dug up a nearly 11 year old thread for no good reason?!?

It's a pilot for a new TV show called The Walking Thread.

Where long dead threads mysteriously come back to life.

Put it down to "A big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff".

Though I don't know how I knew that. Perhaps it's from a big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey wimey future stuff - like this pic of David Tennant.
