Accessing O2 Email through Outlook Express (Pop3)
I'm trying to access my "@o2.co.uk" email account using Outlook Express and have followed the setup instructions as given on the o2.co.uk help pages, but it doesn't work. Is anyone able to successfuly access their O2 e-mail using POP3 or is the service no longer available?
settings I've used (which don't work): Incoming: mail.o2.co.uk Outgoing: mail.o2.co.uk (also tried using smtp.o2.co.uk) Username: myo2websiteusername@o2.co.uk Password: myo2websitepassword Please Help!

I've just tested it in outlook with those settings and it works for me...
you might want to change the SMTP server to the one of your ISP though (if you are with NTLWorld it is smtp.ntlworld.com ). Also make sure all the other settings are correct.... that "logon using seure password authentication" isn't ticked, that the server port numbers are 110 for incoming & 25 for outgoing & that any check boxes about encrypted connections aren't ticked. Are you getting an error message at all when it checks for email, if so what is it? |

Hi. Thanks for the reply.
Strangely, having changed no settings at all, it's now working. It might have just been faulty at the time I first tried it. |
