new phone causing headaches

I got a sony ericsson 700 2 weeks ago and it is giving me severe headaches. Is there anything I can do to eradicate this problem, as I m very happy with the phone otherwise? I had this problem with a nokia 3330 3 years ago and eventually had to get rid of it. I have had several other phones and had no problems.

which 700i is it? k700i or s700i? the k700i has a sharpe edge to it so there sometimes turns peoples ears, also if its not that then have you tried lowering the speaker volume?

Yeh, some fones give me a really *funny* head after using them, I've even noticed a sort of *copper* taste in my mouth too.

I get bad headaches as well if I talk on a mobile for any more than a couple of minutes. I've found it's worse with a Nokia, but the same thing happens with my Samsung. I only talk on them when I absolutely have to now- I don't even like having them turned on. That's not a problem with my phone really, but I have to keep the work phone on all day (the Nokia) and they usually ring me at least twice a day. Needless to say, I get through some paracetomol!

it is down to the over dose of radiation.

when I talk on my mobile I always turn the earpiece up to max volume & hold the phone away from my head slightly. Try doing this, it's enough to stop you getting headaches. Of course, you cant do this if you are somewhere noisy, like walking down the high street. You could always use the hands free kit...?

It's really dodgy, all this talk of people getting headaches using mobiles. Some research says they are safe, some says they are not, my advice to everyone is to be carefull not to use your mobile for too long each day. Use the hands free, try & keep the phone away from your head... I'm betting in 20 years time half the population will have brain tumors, scary eh? Just a thought.....

It's very worrying indeed. Most research papers you read state the safety of mobile phones as being 'inconclusive' which isn't good really! If I spend too long on the mobile (though I do try not to. Our office often keep me for an age on the phone though.) the side of my head that I'm holding the phone against will actually heat up alarmingly. It can't be doing us any good, when you think about it. I'd get rid of my personal mobile altogether, but it's handy for emergencies.

The below site can be helpful for people wanting to know the SAR rating of their mobiles.

Would a bluetooth headset help much?
Wat u lukin at?

That's because it's worn down your brain. The recommended maximum SAR level is 0.8. The 3330 is 0.96. But the K700i is 0.48, so I don't know...

A worker in one of the leading mobile phone shops admitted to me that they get a lot of people complaining about getting headaches from nokias. Never heard about sony ericssons causing this problem though. This doesnt affect everybody just some people. 2-3 hours a day on a mobile a day couldnt be good for you.
