New TV for bedroom - need some suggestions
My current bedroom TV (a 10" Colour Samsung - inherited from partner, so ask no more!) has finally died and I'm now looking for something I can actually watch without straining my eyes.
I am totally accepting of the following facts 1) I can't get a small (less than 20") CRT widescreen TV 2) I can't get an LCD TV that isn't either completely sh!t, outrageously expensive, or both. Therefore all of the above are out of the question, and it looks like I'm going to have to settle for a 14 - 16" 4:3 (in this day and age for the love of god why?) good ol' CRT. I'm going to connect this new TV via SCART to my Pioneer OnD box which is working fine so I'm not going to replace that. I'm also considering a built in DVD player. I have seen a Philips 15PT 6807 which has a sexy picture, but only mono sound - I might be able to live with that though, for £150. Question is, does anyone have any better suggestions for less than £200? Cheers |

I would recommend the pacific widescreen 28" (from asda) if you can fit it in the room.
Is equivalent to 21" 4:3. £158.82 I think they are now. |

On WS if you flick to 4:3, and measure diagonally, it is equal to 21" isn't it? |

Just measured my TV when in 4:3 mode, equates to approx 21" diagonally.
You may be on about the actually width of the screen. For some reason, measuring the TV screen left to right is 24". The 32" WS tv downstairs is 28" across. Parents wouldn't let me measure in 4:3, will check later, but I would say a 32" is equal to 25" 4:3 |
