hi fi Separates
IM looking for a CD player, amplifier and two speakers for under £300. Any suggestions of what’s on the market that best fulfil my needs

Hi,
You’ll get pretty close to that figure if you go to Richer Sounds online (www.richersounds.com) to your nearest Richer Sounds store and get an all-Cambridge Audio (www.cambridge-audio.co.uk), Gale speakers (www.gale.co.uk), a Cambridge Audio lead (an interconnect) to connect the CD player to the amplifier and some Gale speaker cable (from 69p a metre). Both of those brands are owned by the same company, Audio Partnership (www.audiopartnership.com), a British hi-fi manufacturer. I don’t work for Audio Partnership or Richer Sounds, but I have quite a few pieces Audio Partnership (Cambridge Audio and Gale) equipment. Do a search on the Internet. You will find it difficult to get better performance and value anywhere else. I hope this helps. Any more questions, fire away! ![]() Regards, Carl

re:separates
I guess the speakers would depend on where you intend putting them and the size of the room - no point getting massive floorstanders if you have a small room and want them on a shelf.
I too would recommend Richer Sounds for price, though if you have an independant (ie not Dixons) hi-fi retailer near you they should have a listening room where you can try bits and pieces to see if the sound the kit gives is the sound you like. |
