Looks like Doctor Who / Confidential is being repeated according to my Digiguide alerts - starting 16/7/05

FANTASTIC!!!

I hope this is true.

My video recorder packed up part way through the series and I bought a DVD recorder instead, and it took me a while to get to grips with it - anything other than SP recording mode produces pixellation towards the end of the disc and sometimes freezes the picture completely, so I am missing a couple of Confidential episodes and also DALEK!

I'm missing eps. 4-6 because SKY+ went haywire when recording them, so will definitely be rewatching and recording.

And I so want the box-set for Christmas.

Does anyone know which channel the repeats are on? At the moment there's a two hour schedule gap that day from 5.35-7.35pm on BBC1 - which would save me getting Freeview and a new TV, as ours is so old it doesn't have a SCART socket

And I want the box set for Xmas too - have feeling will have to buy it myself, though

According to the Doctor Who Appreciation Society website Doctor Who is on BBC3 on Saturdays at 1945 and Wednesdays at 2015, while Confidential is on Saturdays (the site doesn't give a time for this, but I'm assuming it's 2030 on Saturdays, and it doesn't mention a Wednesday repeat for the Confidential programme) from July 16th!

I for one cannot wait... yet again, something worth watching on a Saturday night, even if it is a repeat!

Again, according to Digiguide, DW and DWC are both on BBC3 only.

16/7/05 19:45 Doctor Who
16/7/05 20:30 Doctor Who Confidential
20/7/05 20:15 Doctor Who

The 20/7/05 entry is detailed as "Rose", but the 16/7/05 just has general waffle - presumably it will be Rose aswell.

I have some suberb copies of Confidential extracted from my Pace Twin hard drive - exact digital copies of the broadcast MPEG stream - much better quality than copying to a DVD recorder. But I am missing the first two DWC's - the repeats will be an opportunity to complete the set.

I haven't bothered to extract DW as I'll be buying the boxed set when it is released.

Shame it's only the cut-down Confidentials.

It's also a shame that the episodes will have a BBC Three logo plastered over them and no doubt a "Coming Next" banner five minutes from the end!

^ Why is that ashame? A Dr Who fan would surely buy the DVDs, would they not? We're waiting for the box-set.

Yes but the Confidential episodes won't be on the DVDs.

Yeah, that's ashame but the episodes don't really matter, do they? Oh, why aren't the confidentail eps going to be included? is it due to royalties for previous Drs and music?

None of the episodes of DWC will be included because of clearance rights with the music used in the series. It is thought that most of the material in the programmes (eg interviews etc) will be used in some way or another on the box set DVDs. (However, I'd like to have had copies of the actual epiosdes themselves. Never mind!)

Just checked the Official BBC Doctor Who website, which states that the episodes are on Sundays at 7pm (not Saturdays at 745pm) and Fridays at 9pm (not Wednesdays at 815pm)

Guess we'll have to wait a while longer to see which is correct - though I should think it's the BBC website!
