Joss Stone-Let the Domination Begin
Joss Stone just gave a great interview on JR tonight and is about to sing with james Brown. She has already stole the Show at the Grammys, Won Brits, Performed twice in one Brit show and is going to be one of the main attractions of Live8. She is going to dominate the world. She is huge in the US and has such a great voice she will go so far.
She will be dominating the entire world this time next year and Totally deserves it since she is great! |

Joss is absolutely amazing and deserves all the success she is getting. Both albums are fantastic and pretty close to world domination at the moment i think.

Its amazing how many people like her just because they fancy her. She reminds me of Dawn out of Emmerdale, only slightly uglier.

She's hardly talented; all she does is whine over tuneless songs. Common sense would say she wouldn't last long, but with the ludicrous amount of terrible songs in the chart she might last a bit longer.

Have you considered having your ear wax cleaned out?
I think she may be guilty of not have the soul that goes with the songs she sings - but she's 18, real soul comes with years of pain, sorrow, love and tears. It will come to her in years to come. But to say that she's not talented is a pretty baseless insult and a cheap shot. |

What better recommendation can she get than that? |

She is awesome... I agree with Peter Kay she must have sold her soul to the devil.

I have been rather cynical towards Stone in the past but she is best when she does uptempo tracks as proved by her performances on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross and yesterdays performance on Live 8.

What better recommendation can she get than that? Don't get me wrong in what in said, I think she's excellent and I played both her albums to death in the car - but if I had to find one fault (especially with her live performances) is that she's too flawless! She sings perfectly to the letter - and if you listen to the great soul singers, Aretha, Dionne, Luther (god bless him), Ray (and him) and the like, they deliver what they are singing with oodles of emotion that can only be gained by having your heart broken into a million little pieces. Joss has the potential to be in that list of names, and with time I actually think she will be. Trouble is, she's got to cry many rivers first! |

Simply awful wailing, sings every song exactly the same in this fake voice and she was crap yesterday, defintely one of the worst.

I think she is a wonderful singer, really talented.
I love both of her albums & don't stop listening to the latest one. But i do think her voice can be really annoying when she does that " OOoo OoO oOOO, OoO oO Oooo" in the whiney voice, in basically every song. I think she sounds excellent until she starts with all that! I didn't think she was good singing with James Brown on Jonathon Ross. But i thought she was one of the best performers, if not, the best performer on Live8! All in my opinion of course

Joss Stone- has here time come?
With apologies to Anthony and a few other posters, I couldn't disagree more.
She has an amazing voice and feel for the songs she sings and certainly was a highlight for me at Live8. I have been a fan for two years regularly listen to both albums and i feel she's improving. To criticize her for her age is unfair - she can't help that - and she's got the time to take in more 'soul'. |

But there's a slim chance she reads these boards, and from past experience if you really want to stand out from the crowd and get to know an interesting woman, a disparaging (and obviously ludicrous) remark sometimes breaks the ice. I'm not one for bragging, but this approach is responsible for more than one notch on the old bed post (with a couple pending - eh Joss?!). ![]() PS: Yes, I am over twice her age, but hey, I can still touch my toes - see them no, touch them yes! |
