"Phunk" or "mess" - which is it to be?
The fact that in the US they have the Black Eyed Pea's "Don't Mess With My Heart" says a lot about the UK, and a lot of little girls wanting to appear 'cool' "wid wrds lik phunk".
What's wrong with "mess"? "Phunk" isn't even a word. Not that it matters. |

I think the original title is meant to be "Don't F**k With My Heart" but obviously it's not terribly radio friendly - can you imagine what would happen if JK and Joel said "F**k" on air? Although, it has to be said they too had a "radio friendly" version of Eamon song - they called it "FURB" or "You Right Back" if I remember corrently, eliminating the word f**k.
I wouldn't complain, but I am sure a load of other people would. The BBC's phonelines would probably be red hot and their inbox deluged with emails of complaint! I think it's more of an issue in the US as they IMO not as liberal as we are with our Anglo-Saxon and French vocabulary. If the exposure of nipple (aka "nipplegate") can cause so much furore as it did, can you imagine what a load of swearwords in the title of a chart song would do?
