There's nothing wrong with being patriotic! I'm patriotic... but I'm not racist. That conversation seems to infer that to be patriotic you have to be racist. It's disgusting.
I'm proud of our country, I'm proud that it's becoming less racist (slowly), I'm proud that racism is seen as disgusting, I'm proud of the rich and various cultural influences we have here now.
Considering they all went on and on about ENGLISH FOOD, I bet they all eat regularly in Indian and Chinese restaurants and take-a-ways. Apart form anything else... chips originated in France!!! (Hence American's calling them French Fries).
They're RACIST HYPOCRITS... NOT PATRIOTS.
