like i say m8 put our own house in order first,,and only let proper asylum seekers in,some of what he said was distastefull, but seemed more in jest, and why these less fortunate, leave germany, france and come here when they have escaped from there countries, and how much more charitable do you want us to be,our own people are starving, living on the breadline in many areas

Simon can you elaborate a bit more about the poverty you have witnessed in the UK?

Earlier you referred to Zimbabwe's treatment of white farmers. Out of interest, what are your thoughts and feelings about the recent 'Operation Cleanup' there?

i know these issues should be tackled but i am getting a bit weary of all the racisim threads

and dont all go off on one and say "well dont read them then"

there is a perfectly good political forum for these debates

Slappers the threads are a reflection of and are inspired by things people say and do in the house. Therefore they are relevant here.

Personally I choose not to take part in threads about housemates boobs or dress sense but I would not expect my personal preferences regarding conversation topics to determine the agenda here. If people want to talk about those topics and it doesn't break any rules I wouldn't dream of commenting in these threads purely to say they bore me.

I don’t see why any aspect of the HMs should be off-limits for discussion and if you see racism in Craig’s words then doesn’t that go a long way toward corroborating the undercurrents that FMs, HMs, the newspapers, Davina and BBLB have mentioned at some point?

The fact you’re "weary" of such threads only goes to point out how often HM conduct/statements have caused heated debate here.

Such discussion should not be ghettoised (no pun....) in an adjunct forum.

Just under 1 in 4 people in the UK – or nearly 13 million people ,according to oxfam, live in poverty, and im not aware of zimbabwe's cleanup policies, just stating the government backed butchering of white farmers..

the point is they dont bore me but there have been a lot of these threads

we had the black power thread yesterday wihch was a really good thread only to have a new one started to go over exactly the same thing and that was started this mornng

i may not comment very much on these threads because i learn more by just reading them

i may post about dress sense and how many farts a hm can do but i am also interested in the way the human race acts

i also commented on the amount of wig threads but when i was looking at the page earlier there were five racism threads and i know of at least two that had nothing to do with the subject of BB

as i said there are really good threads about these subjects on the poltics forum

I do not have a patriotic bone in my body. I am no more proud of being British than I am proud of the colour of my eyes. I had no control over either of these occurrences and therefore it would be stupid of me to feel 'proud' of them.

For the facts about asylum seekers I suggest you read this

http://www.refugeecouncil.org.uk/news/myths/myth001.htm

And as for 'our grandfather's sacrifices' I suggest you, and Craig when he leaves the house, read this.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/war/wwt...nials_01.shtml

Then maybe your future posts will be better informed.

Craig: [Replying to Derek justifying his hatred of Science] "You see ’cos I haven’t personally got a racist bone in my body. And the thing with me is I come from an area where we don’t have that many different cultures...and I’m not racist at all."

Reconcile that with his other comments.

Unbelievable.

Craig: "I’m no more white than he [Kemal] is. You’re [Derek] no more black than I am"

So that’s the answer to Craig’s self-loathing - He’s actually a black man trapped in an idiot’s flabby white body!
