PJ Harvey

Today, in the car was the first time I listened to this - it's great.

Nice and loud - can't remeber what the album is, but the first track constantly says: "lick my legs".

Saw them at T in the Park last year, she looked sexy in a yellow dress with blue high heels.

That's the Rid Of Me album I'd say, or The 4-Track Demos alb. The song "Rid Of Me" is first on the tracklisting of each.

I adore PJ, one of my fave artists. All her albums are just great.

The one with the Radiohead singer on a few of the tracks is poorly produced and I dont like his singing at all.

Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea.

I think that Tom Yorke is only on one track (This Mess We're In)

This is the only album by P.J. that I own - I've got other son my 'to buy' list

Yeah it's the only one I own as well. It sounds ok in the car but on my hifi the production is shown up as being extremely rough, there's clear digital clipping all the way through (a sort of grating fuzz in loud parts that makes it sound harsh) Thom Yorke's on more than one track isnt he? Been a while since I listened to it, maybe not. I think he's awful though.

You're right - he's credited on 'One Line' and 'Beautiful Feeling' as well - never noticed that before. I'm not a fan of his but I thought 'This Mess We're In' was ok considering the subject matter (wouldn't do for a 'happy' singer'). Hope I don't go off the album now I know he's on more tracks (I'll start listening for & hearing his contributions).

On another note - can anyone comment on P.J. Harvey on the 'Desert Sessions' by Josh Homme (the singer from Queens of the Stone Age), e.g. how much she's on it & is it any good?

I adore the "Stories.." album, but on my stereo I did have the same problem with the production.. It sounds perfect on my mp3 though, so it doesn't put me off the alb in general. I love Thom Yorke's contribution.

I haven't got the "Desert Sessions." I know she features (vocally, and in some cases playing various instruments) on the tracks "A Girl Like Me", "Powdered Wig Machine", "Crawl Home", "I Wanna Make It Wit Chu", "There Will Never Be A Better Time", and "Dead In Love." Not sure about the others though. The album has been on my to-get list for a while.. I've heard "Powdered Wig Machine" and like it a lot.

Give a women's legs "some attention" - that'd be my cup of tea.... heheh - back to PJ - what I've heard from her has been so/so - certainly one of the more interesting "pop artists" around.

PJ sounds a bit like Sleeper, but rockier.
