There's no washing machine. They have to wash by hand.

hutchio, go take a look at the official site tour. There is one, you can see it in one of the pictures on the Ch4 site. Not sure if they've discovered it, as I thought they were talking about having to do all their washing by hand when they were exploring. I'm thinking it might be a reward for passing a task or something, and the cupboard may be locked.

Take a look at the suppliers list on the Ch4 site as well, it's interesting.

I was wondering if their tasks this year are going to bring different rewards instead of shopping money. I speculated that they may get luxury items (which they had taken away from them) as rewards for passing tasks, and be given the proportional shopping budget each week. It could certainly be interesting if they had items taken away or given to them depending on how they do on the tasks.

All i can say is i would love my kitchen to be that basic

Me too, and you can bet it wasn't anywhere near being 'basic' prices.
