If they split the house into two, how will the eviction process work out?
Will contestants only be able to nominate the people in their half of the house? This would seem logical because they will have had no interaction with the contestants in the other half. However, long-standing hatreds would have to take a back seat if this were the case.
I can't see the split-house thing working because of this. Unless, they split the house for short periods of time, with the intention of placing specific contestants together. They could do this to increase tension by selecting contestants who are winding each other up (imagine Spencer and Jade paired off together) or to promote romance by giving a bit of intimancy and privacy.
