BBC's trick to win ratings against BB3 launch ??

OK, call me overly suspicious, but have the BBC just pulled of one of the neatest rating winning tricks in living memory?

Specifically I'm reffering to the Angus Deyton scandle & what it did for the ratings of HIGNFY. The show was getting a little tired IMO, & would have taken a hammering at the launch of BB3, but no, the host gets caught with his trusers down, they get the best guest list in a long time with more material than you can shake a stick at & win.

Now maybe this is conspiracy theory at its worst (best?) but did AD look at all bothered by the revalations (NO), did he look as if he was quite enjoying is (YES)....

Was it a plan or just a happy coincidence?

What do you all think?????

But a damn good one! If it was, you gotta respect them for it.

For me it stopped being funny when it was revealed that the entire show is scripted
Sort of ruined it for me, and several others presumably.

It is NOT scripted!!!

The guests and presenters do get to see the questions before hand. They then go into make-up to think of their "ad-libs". To be fair the majority of the humour is spontaneous but a % of it is not.

The show is there to entertain, and it does that. No one watches it to see who "wins" as that is unimportant (unlike say a question of sport). Most comedy quizes are done this way (can't think of the name of C5 show on at the moment)

Yeah, it is scripted and rehearsed to make sure that it has enough laff lines in... it's a spoiler when you realise all this ad lib stuff is NOT. :'(
