anyone been phoned by homechoice to replace their box?

Hi,

I got a call on my mobile today from homechoice saying that my set top box has a fault and they need to replace it, something about the power supply being bad? Thing is, my box is working perfectly and i've had no problems. I had it fitted last october and its been working fine ever since. They are going to come and replace it on friday. Anyone else had this? anybody know exactly what the problem is, is it a faulty batch of STBs?

Nikhil, this is nothing to worry about. HC phoned me about a week-and-a-half ago and told me the same thing. They arranged to have my STB swapped on the Sunday after the phne calls(4 days later)and it only took 15 mins for the engineer to do it. Everything has working fine.

My box was fine before this, but they said it could've gone at anytime, so they wanted to be on the safe side.

Very efficient and quick as well

They replaced my box on Tuesday, with what looks like a refurb; it's covered in scrathes. I've had to re-start it 5 times tonight! Their technical support, re-sent the signal, whatever that means, but this has turned out to be a temporary fix. I'm calling them tomorrow for a repacement.

Has anyone else had problems with their replacements?

I sympathise with you, looks like you drew the short straw with that box. I've not had any problems with my replacement. Thats pretty poor of them to give you a refurb!

Hope they sort it out for you.

After speaking with customer services I've managed to arranged for a replacment to be installed next week. Let's hope this works with no problems.
