It is really. Just think of how many people tuned in last year because of Brian.
If they had gay contestants it would give more things to talk about.
”

and our gay ex-nun came in second BB1, remember?!
PJ is no way gay
Adele is also a bit butch, and could be I agree
Sunita is defo very butch, but methinks will have problems coming out as an asian girl - and she seems to respect her background lots, so why would C4 choose a closet lesbian?
But is this speculation worth it?
My best bet/hope is that Spencer is bi... he seems like the sort of guy who might be?

Why no way to PJ?

Spencer I don't think is but my dreams would come true if he was

I agree about Sunita and Adele, and Sunita wouldn't join in the sex position game. Tho the girls did have the conversation about Lee and Adele said she 'would' so mebbies she's bi?

To the people asking why it matters if anyone is gay or not - it matters because if you're gay, it's nice to see other people on TV who are going through some of the same things as you are. Straight people take it for granted that they can identify with people on TV and in films. The more that gay people are on TV, and are not portrayed as the stereotypes of old, hopefully the more accepting everyone will be.

Tonight Lee said he had slept with 10 women... at least I hope they were women. The thought of Lee being gay makes me feel ill! He says he's 21? Does anyone believe that? My god, by 31 he'll look disgusting!

Exactly!

Plus it's good to see a diverse mix of people all trying(?) to get on !

I doubt very much that it's Spencer - he's only showered once since he started, Kate's calling him 'Smelly'.... No gay man I know would get to that point

Don't forget Josh, Andy, Sada and Nichola. In fact, when you add together all the gay and bi- housemates from series 1 & 2, they are around a third of the total. If anything, this is probably over-representation!

Interesting to note that the winners of Big Brother, Popstars and Pop Idol were all young gay men (Brian, Noel, Will Young) and the most talked about TV chat show hosts (Mr Norton, Mr Barrymore) are also gay men! If anything - gay men are now over-represented and gay women are very under-represented

I agree, but at least we are getting there?

We would NEVER of had this amount of gay people on tv (out!) about 5 or so years ago!

Absolutely agree, who is the cause of this?

When did Noel come out? I must've missed that.

I don't think it's so much the case that there's more gay people on TV, it's that there are more out gay people. Lets see, we've got: all the ones already mentioned, Rosie O'Donnell, characters (and some cast members) from QAF UK and US, Rhona Cameron as well as various other people. There's plenty of rumours about almost anyone in showbiz, and sometimes there is fact behind it. I have met a couple of people when I've been out in Glasgow, and one poor guy got questioned by a couple of the (rather drunk) people I was with

If one of them was gay, it would be interesting, as it's part of their personality. Being gay myself I hope it is PJ as he is rather cute ”

I haven't seen much of the show so far (I've been rather busy directing a play -- see http://www.stagephoto.co.uk/producti...duction=unidac) but I agree. Personally, however, I think I'd prefer Spencer.

You didn't know me a few years ago, then, when I used to manage about one bath per month.

homo-, hetero- and bi-sexuality are merely a matter of what wobbly bits one prefers one's sexual and/or romantic partners to have. This has no baring on other personal habits, mannerisms, interests, aesthetics or abilities, regardless of what the media, advertisers and other perveyors of stereotypes would have you believe.
