I'm starting to go off BB6
Dakota.
14-07-2005
And yet, I have no reasonable excuse why. All the past housemates who have gone, I never liked and never wanted them to leave. However, Saskia, Maxwell & Roberto brought something to the house IMO, something that we could all get involved with and take sides with. Now all that is left is a bunch of people who will just show different sides to get people to vote for them. Craig is just getting up my nose, seriously, how did he last this long? Why the hell does the Sun adore him? Derek is half entertaining, Makosi I do like, but she should really stop being two faced. The rest? Meh, I have the same opinion on them, one trick pony's.

All this comes after last night where I just couldn't be bothered to watch it. Bring back BB3.

I don't like anyone in the house, but its still watchable... just!

I went off it after Week 1. All he remaining housemates irritate me immensely and are are very 2-dimensional.

They are all unpleasant, but if you scratch beneath the surface then they are are all very unpleasant.

I find myself watching less and less live feed now, simply because the conversations that are not sound dipped are usually the same 'did you hear what <name> said, I hope they go out', 'yeah, your so right' (repeat until evicted).

It took me a few weeks to get into it (and believe me I was really really worried about not liking another BB!) but I love it now, get Me-kosi out and it'll get better

Absolutely agree.

It's weird because you feel torn. On one hand to vote to keep your favourite housemates in, whereas this year I feel like I'm voting for people I dislike, which then has left the house bereft of any genuinely attractive people in whom you could commit your energy in viewing them. With the exception of Science who does come across as being genuine and often remarkably perceptive, none of the other housemates have won my affection.

But if BB is meant to be a reality gameshow then where does that leave us as the viewing public. SHould the winner be entertaining or worthy?

Either way BB6 disappoints as none of the housemates particularly deserve £100,000 fo entertaining me or being attractive (and I do mean in a none physical sense).

So yes, I too am devoid of enthusiasm for this poor excuse for a Big Brother....although most amusing is the news that the HMs think their gang is better than any of the previous 6 series!

May just watch the news tonight...

Saskia went because she was a female
Roberto and Maxwell went because they were up againt another male so women had to choose to to vote out

I agree there. Science is IMO the only one who deserves to win now. But the GBP are so wrapped up in the others, that he won't get a chance to win as much as he deserves to. This is what makes the show unwatchable now.

If anyone other than Science won, how would they compare to previous winners?

I'm definitely not as mad about BB this year comparing to other years and last night I think I realised why.

I know this is really sad - but every year when I'm watching the show, I love to daydream and imagine what I would be like in the house etc and who I would pal around with etc - it always seems like such fun!!! But this year - looking at the contestants I have no desire to be in the house at all - I'd hate it. It just doesn' seem like much fun and I doubt if I was a contestant this year that I'd have made any genuine friends!!

Know how you feel Eva. I think with the more male-dominated house this year, I've not really liked it. Now it's almost certain to say that a female will be leaving this week. And almost certain to say Makosi - a very strong character, quite possibly THEE strongest character. Love her or hate her, she would be a great loss to the house.

They're all very vacuous this year, apart from a couple of 'em unfortunately.
I think the producers are mainly at fault - they have relied on zaniness and not character. Because of Nadia last year, I suspect they thought that the "shock factor" was an audience winner. The producers have become too arrogant (the Big Brother voices themselves are a good sign of this: particularly obnoxious and they sound like they're gloating) - get rid of them next year as well I say.
In fact get rid off Davina and Dermot too - they're hearts aren't in it - I think they are just there for the cash - you can see the deadness behind their eyes when they are trying to enthuse about the House. It just ain't there anymore.

My problem is I don't really care about any of the contestants this year, in previous series there was always at least one person I was really interested in but this year there's no-one. Proof of my lack of interest is that
1 I switch off the tv at midnight despite the fact I could feasibly stay awake til 1am ( used to so 2am in the past) and get up for work
2 I still watch "regular tv" (used to give up certain programmes because I was worried about missing something in BB)

I would definitely agree that Dermot and Davina's hearts don't seem to be in it but I believe any presenters would feel the same . The housemates just aren't that likeable this year. It's not Dermot or Davina's fault. Perhaps BB7 will have a better cast and they will be back to their usual selfs

I do think Dermot doesn't care - he's much more comfortable behind the desk at Radio 2. I mean how can a 33 year old man take talking about people's foot shape as a reflection of their personality seriously anymore?
