A lot of people are accusing housemates of bitching but if they were to say what they thought to peoples faces surley there would be another arguement. and then people would moan about that too.

What im saying is im sure the housemates like makosi or derek dont want to argue all the time and so are expressing there opinion non directly.

as derek said

They could just keep it to themselves

They should come to diary room to bitch, that's what it's there for. Bitching in groups is bad news.

Do they have to bitch 24/7. Its a bit wearing and bores the pants off me. Now, If I switch on the TV and see Makosi sitting bitching I just switch off again.

I think passing the odd bitchy comment about fellow HMs is normal behaviour, however some of this lot spend about 10 hours a day bitching about others.

I have no problem with bitching - it's a perfectly normal way to get stuff off your chest without having an unnecessary confrontation.

You can bitch without doing a total character assassination.

You can have a bit of a rant and then get on it, or you can allow yourself to get sucked into an atmosphere of negativity towards others where belonging means excluding, and where there is no trust because anyone can be the next target.

It is the relentless, nasty, self-important bitching of some HMs that is going to be their downfall.

I agree that the assessment that they are just 'bitching' is a bit simplistic. They've been caught up in that place now for ages, they have no outside contacts or entertainment, they are completely dependent on each other for company and on BB for sustenece. If they didn't use talking about each other and their feelings about their situation as a safety valve, it's very hard to see how violence could be avoided.

They are constantly testing loyalties, friendships, feelings, and I think that's fairly common in a closed environment and necessary for psychological survival. To just call it 'bitching' with the associated judgement that it's wrong and shouldn't happen really doesn't take account of group dynamics.

A lot of the things that have been bitched about could have been sorted out if they'd discus things. Even simple things like Vanessa and others eating too much, remember when Jon talked to Nush about the girls eating too much? Sometimes truths need to be said, if it ends up in an actual fight (with for obviously reasons won't actually happen) then that's what's supposed to happen. Sometimes you need a shouting match to clear the air.

Bitching is probably all they can do in there, since they have not much else to do

i think its fair to say almost everyone in the world has bitched at one point or another

I don't get what they're supposed to talk about, 7 weeks in, apart from each other? They'll all have already shared stories and facts about themselves. It's 24 hours in which to do nothing. People are going to bitch.

I think the other problem is that they are not being given anything to actually do. The 'task' insofar as you can call them that are over too quickly and don't involve a lot really.
Maybe we are seeing loads of bitching as BB isn't giving them anything to do which could be used to fill the highlights shows!
Wheres the endurance tasks? Wheres the 24 hour, everyone awake tasks? Loads of footage there.

Although the show isn't supposed to be about watching people do stuff as such, is it? It's supposed to be about the evolving relationships under pressure. Not giving them enough to do to occupy their time and keeping them slightly hungry enhances the pressure and seems to increase the pressure.

Some are missing the point I think. Some HMs "bitch" considerably less than others and/or are able to talk calmly and sensibly to other HMs they have a problem with. BB is a popularity contest where HMs are assessed according to their relative merits. Those who bitch the most - and the most viciously - will attract criticism inevitably...particularly if they lack the courage to raise their issues with the "bitchee" face-to-face.

When has Antony or Craig ever discussed a problem theyve had.

they were both bitching terribly about Kemal last night

All off them talk about each other. Craig and Kemal are the worst for this however I don't think it is bitching.

i would rather watch someone bitch than watch people sitting round a table with their cups of teas all getting on like a house on fire.

Sorry if im in the minority but i dont watch BB for everyone to get along and like each other
