Eviction Night - how things have changed...
BurlyBeaR
14-07-2005
Do you remember when eviction nights used to be a festival of handholding on the sofa, sobs at the result, hugs and kisses for all, and then sending people out of the house beneath a tunnel of upstretched arms and intertwined hands?

Now we have the dead silence whilst waiting for the result, the surreptitious glances between allies, the cringe-making embarrassment whilst the evictee says goodbye to the one or two people he/she thinks are friends and the solitary walk of shame to the other side of the house in order to leave… in silence.

This must be one of the best ever BB’s and there’s one person to thank for it.

Leave Makosi in.

She's the reasons it's getting crap. Get her out and the others might have their own personalities come out. Have to work together then, give us some entertainment!

But you're right about the actual eviction night but that's caused by the seperate living room (bad idea in my mind anyway), but saying that you wouldn't get this lot off their bums even if they were right next to the door.

Was it BB1 where they had the ceremonial eviction night bath in a tin bath in the garden?

i myself preferred the nights eviction was more hand shaking ect.

I think its society that this bb is for.

To show how awful ppl really are.
I think they are sticking their fingers up at the public and saying you love to hate

Too true...even last year eviction night was a pleasant occasion. This year, because of the selfish, ignorant, childish, wanabe housemates (and whose fault is that) the whole process is virtually unwatchable.

Even outside the house the scenario is just a joke. The crowd does whats it told dependant uopn who is to evicted, Davina is total waste of space (bring on Paxman) and the inside studio audience are sycophants (presumably because they are told to be good little people).

Good TV ? IMO; No

Keep her in but don't let her win.

I sort of agree with you. She has been quite a character over the weeks, but she rather suffocates other personalities in the house. It does grate after a while.

It clearly is the prize money, it seems to of dragged the worst out of them. I think we would of had totally different HMs if it was 10k.

True and also BB have let them off the hook (oh God did I really say that) by not reducing prize fund everytime they fail a task - by now the kitty would be about zero!

Which would have meant that on eviction night they would all be clamouring to get out.

No.

There is no balance, balance is essential for real enjoyment IMO. Too much nastiness or too much niceness gets boring.

Some honest nice actions would make a welcome change this year.

I think it's more to do with the Jade effect.
If the mindless British press and public hadn't made her a millionairess basically for being the most unpleasant BB housemate in history (although Makosi's trying hard for her crown) then those since might've been less keen to follow her example.
I hate the atmosphere in the house on eviction night.
It's so unpleasant and if indeed it really is a game (I don't believe it is) it's most unsporting.
