How exactly will the week 1 eviction be decided?

Apologies (never start with an apology - D'oh!) if this has already been discussed, but I haven't seen it anywhere yet...

I was assuming that this weeks eviction was a simple public vote, i.e. whomever gets the most telephone votes is evicted. But from what I have now read (see DS BB3 "Public to make first nominations" news story on Day 1) it seems that the housemates will decide who is actually evicted. This raises some interesting issues:-

i) Is it the only the two who get the most telephone votes are up for eviction by the housemates? If so, what happens if the housemates vote is split 6 for each nominee?

ii) Will BigBrother tell the housemates their ranking in the telephone vote? Or will they be voting without knowing who is up for eviction?

I'm inclined to think the housemates will not hear the result of the telephone vote, and will only be told that there has been one and that of the two with the highest number of telephone votes the one who get the most nominations from the housemates will be evicted. If this is the case, it will mean in the later stages the housemates still have no real idea of their popularity with the public, maintaining maximum stress for all.

Of course, it still leaves the problem of a split vote by the housemates...

Whadaya think...?

this is kinda being discussed at this thread: http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...threadid=24998

Fridays eviction is really intriguing, cant wait to see what happens!

I hope the housemates ahve to vote in front of each other... what a tense 3 minutes that will be!
