Can't do a top 5 - too many possibilities.
However, at number 787,487,564,572,347 is Imagine, by the otherwise rather good Mr Lennon. Dire. |

Top 5 70s songs:
1. "Rivers Of Babylon" Boney M 2. "Staying Alive" The Bee Gees 3. "Video Killed the radio Star" The Buggles 4. "Rasputin" Boney M 5. "Night Fever" The Bee Gees As you can tell, 1978 was one of my fave all time years for music - Rivers Of Babylon was the first song I owned, aged just 4! Also, take A Chance On Me would prob be number 6 (again form 78) wth Bo Rhap in Number 7. Was good to see Bo Rap on TOTP2 last night - the song, of course, attributed as the veyr first song to have a music video done especially for Top of the Pops, if memory serves me correctly! Oh, and soz to be picky guys, but Imagine was from 1981, released just after John Lennon was murdered in Dec 1980. |

To be even more picky:It may well have been re-released to cash in on his death, but it first came out in 1971. |
