And he seems to be quite well informed about black history, Egypt, Luxor etc etc...

Presumably he 'read' about these subjects?

How much has he said about these things?

He had quite long conversations with Eugene and (believe it or not) Derek about these and many other subjects. You'll only see these on the live feed though because BB doesn't deem such things 'relevant' to their 'cartoon' characterisations of the housemates personalities.

ok,i can see how the shouting might annoy, but the fact that nobody listens to,or hears what science is actually saying means that people ignore the fact that most of what he says is right.

the fact that his arguing/communication skills are different to others is NOT a reason to hate, surely.!

he's also, just about the only HM who hasn't wound himself up with STUPID THEORIES due to the fact that he thinks he might know the game, the producers,or the public better than anyone else....unlike most of the rest of them at various times.(and i hope it's pointed out, vociferously,on eviction, how stupid people like derek kemal makosi et al have appeared with all the piffle about moles etc) ”

He doesn't wind himself up over theories, but
he worked out yesterday's eviction about ten
minutes after Kermit, Anthony and Craig were
put up, in the circumstances in which they were
put up. He reasoned that the rest of them were
really the ones put up, and that was the 'lie'
I think Science has an unconventional way about
him, which may require the listener to make an effort
to understand the 'frequency' but after that,
he comes across as an intelligent, insightful, balanced man.

Yes, the so called conspiracy theorists in the house,
have always proved to be one step behind Science
and he isn't even interested in the mechanics of the game

Yes, I did ask.

I had a look at the thread you linked to, and I agree that Science sometimes does have a nice turn of phrase. However, zazza's reference to Science's "use of metaphor, allusion and irony" seems to me to be exaggerating Science's literary skills.

PS: Thanks for the link.

I don't suppose long conversations make for riveting viewing on a highlights show, certainly.

On another thread a few days ago, someone suggested that Science's interest in Egypt might because he has an Afrocentrist view of history. Click here for information. However, I don't know whether that is the case. His interest in Egypt does seem a little odd to me, though, if he isn't of the Afrocentrist tendency.

I think 'nice turn of phrase' is under selling
his talents for rhapsodizing quite lyrical and
expressive batches of rap.

I have detected irony, metaphor and allusion
in his conversational English. He loves language,
so why would he over look its most fundemental
levels of prettiness?

The comment was slightly tongue in cheek, but I stand by what I say...

he has stated on many occasions that he is tryoing to trace his (slave, african) ancestry as it wasn't really touched on in school history lessons...

And he told Derek the other night that he loves reading poetry and would look up Kipling's "If" as he'd recommended it.

Absolutely, they'd rather show people falling over, being drunk and having arguments.

True. However, it's my impression that these are the things that most people on this forum react to as well. If an HM disgraces himself/herself in some way, or if there's a good going fight, this forum catches fire. Quiet chats between HMs don't seem to have the same effect.

Yes well there you have it - weird!

Most normal people don't speak in metaphor 24/7 and think that it is big and grown up.

I wouldn't mind if they made sense, but they are mostly a stream of random words NOT anything clever.

He does it to sound big and interesting and fails on both counts!

A little kid in an adult world - way past his bedtime I think.

Why do people not listen to him? - Because he talks crap.

People don't listen to gobby kids.

Spot the metaphors, anyone?

We all know you like the monosyllabic types
that prefer a conversation that details past
drinking episodes and whose entire analytic
thought process, goes into working out whether
using a hose would get someone wetter than
using a jug full of water.

Going around in little groups ganging up on people and bullying them if they don't subscribe to what you like?

Please don't think that any of us will be bullied off this forum by little Science lover gang.

I comment on a HM on BB and the Science gang go around attacking posters.

Is that all you lot can do? Never answer a post or just state your opinion, but gang up and try and discredit the poster.

Anyway, I get back to talking about the HMs if you don't minds.

I think you've discredited yourself with your ott analysis of a decent HM....

Excuse me, how the hell do you know what types or ranges of types of people whom I like?

YOU DO NOT KNOW ME PERSONALLY.

Please try and stick to commenting on the HMs instead of attacking posts and making accusations on which you have no knowledge on which to base the foundation.
