That I posted a thread with a very mild homphobic (poo*) term and called Derek the C word (jumbled up), four times... I was then Reported by a poster that had been stalking me for days, and was banned... this on a site where you can post mutli page threads on different ways of killing Vanessa... or about Makosi being a monkey... to name two.

The HMs don't like it because Orlaith's got the measure of them. Derek deserves everything he gets. When it suits him, he can be far more vile and come out with far more controversial things.

I have strong pro-tolerance opinions and pro-women opinions.

So going from your comment and Derek's behaviour, are you agreeing that he has strong racist opinions... I used the word poof in one post.... he used the words Ni**er, belittles and is intolerant of women, belittles the experiences of dis-enfranchised people of all races.

And back to my original point... Derek made that statement, when he altready thought Science was a goner... so as an advocate of Mr Laud, maybe you can tell me the rationale and/or reasoning behind his comments?

If he was racist it would be against another race to himself, I really don't want to give you a platform to start quoting out of context what Derek said, I think the point was discussed in full when it happended. Well, actually... just after Derek, Craig and Roberto had their nominations taken away Derek was very pissed off with the whole thing. I can remember that he refused to put on his microphone at one point and was chatting to another housemate. From what I can recall he was explaining to this other housemate his reasons for coming on the show. Didn't need the money and so on, but the Conservative Party have always been viewed in a particular way, and... Then the director switched to another housemate. So I think part of his motivation for going in there is definitely related to trying to change the public perception of the Tory party.

You're as good as saying you can abuse someone terribly if they offend you deeply enough, which is exactly what derek was doing. Maybe he should've used a 'mild' racist term instead. Would that have made you happy?

The first week or so I came to the conclusion that the reason (or at least one reason) for Science's being on this show was a desire on his part to be a positive role model for younger members of his community. (I think it was reading about his BBC award and the plaque in his neighbourhood that convinced me.)

I think he's a genuinely nice person: honest, kind, loyal, funny, intelligent. But I presume he's very aware of the fact that how he acts will reflect not only on himself but on the public's perception of "young black youth" and on black kids' perception of themselves. (He must have been horrified by his drunkenness.)

Brian Dowling did a lot of good by being who he was on BB. imo, Science is being an equally great role model.
