Does anyone know where this storyline with Tim the vet in Corrie is going? Will him and Sean get together?

Until I opened this I thought you meant Tim Vincent as the vet in Emmerdale...lol

And on that note, some things in soap feel like bizarre dreams - I can't remember the FIRST thing about him other than a relationship with Trisha.

LOL! I cant remember much about him either. He was very dull. I know he started seeing Trisha and then was caught cheating on her.

I hope Sean and Tim become Corrie's first proper gay couple.

Well nothing has been said about him being gay. Sean just met him, fancied him so has started chasing him.

Perhaps Sean will turn him. I hope Tim doesn't fall for Sean just so he can be on the tele more.

Well it's been over a month since his first appearance and he's only been in 3 episodes since then, so either he's not destined for longevity or it's a very very slow introduction!

As it's all being played for comedy I can't see him lasting too long. He's too serious for Sean, and not camp enough.
But y'never know!

And he doesn't exactly dominate the episode screen time wise when he IS in! I think Friday was his 3rd appearance and that was the longest he was on screen, about 3 minutes in all.

There's a scene coming up when he meets Sean in the Rovers and another when they take a dog for a walk, (and lose it!) and then there's talk about Sean's lies being found out - whatever that means - and Tim apparently has been lying as well, and that's when it mentions Sean being left heartbroken.

It's all very strange, cos Tim's said hardly anything the brief time he's been in, and nothing of a personal nature, so how big could the lies be in one or two of his future appearances?!

The obvious thing is that he's already got a boyfriend, or something. Can't think of anything else that could breaks Sean's heart unless he just tells him he's not interested!

A gay relationship of contrasting personalities is currently being played out on Family Affairs at the moment. Some have criticised their acting, but it is great to see a gay couple on screen going through all the usual dynamics of a relationship, other than struggling with being gay or being used for comedy.

He's not by next Monday. Sean sees him in the pub and tells him the dog they had walked was dead and he was drowning his sorrows - probably trying to get his sympathy.

When Tim finds out he's lying, it wasn't his dog, he only borrowed it and it's stil alive - he tells him he's blown any chance of a date and walks out, leaving Sean's relationship over before it started!

Or as it was put in the soap mag ... Sean tells TIm he only pretended to be an animal lover because he thought it was the only way he could get a date with him. Tim replies calmly that now he'll never know, and walks off! There was a thing in the soap mag last week that said 'Sean's new relationship leaves him heartbroken' - that was clearly what it was referring to.

Probably won't be the end cos they haven't actually started a relationship yet and he's supposed to be destined to be his boyfriend, but it's not exactly going at great speed!

Though apparently Tim is also keeping something to himself and lying about something. No idea what that is, no doubt we'll find out one day!

Interesting seeing a gay relationship storyline between someone clearly obviously gay and one who looks straight (reflecting their real life personas of course! ) - one camp, one serious.

Still wish the gay couple in Corrie were Todd and Karl though. Don't half miss em. Now they had a chemistry you definitely don't see between Tim and Sean!

I had assumed the same thing following the media hoopla around Edward MacLiam’s arrival on The Street, but, according to his agents website , he [MacLiam] is only to appear in nine episodes.

If this is the case, I’m actually quite disappointed. I think a Tim/Sean relationship had potential.

hope that is the case, although when Antony Cotton was interviewed on Richard & Judy (26/04/05) I’m sure he said
Spoiler

and Tim isn't

Well I dunno if you remember last year there was a lot made of Louis, Sean's ex, coming back and them rekindling their romance and becoming Corrie's first gay couple. That was in the papers and everything, built up into a big story.

In an interview in his local paper - before he even appeared - he said he was only actually in 2 episodes! So much for the build up! 9 episodes over about a month is a long time in comparison!

But this story was always played as another comedy one for Sean, so it doesn't really surprise me though I thought it would be a bit longer!

from that website

"Edward MacLiam joins the cast of CORONATION STREET on the 29th of June playing the new vet Tim White who is asked to treat Sean's dead cat. Sean becomes smitten with the sexy vet who has an excellent bedside manner. Ed will feature in 9 episodes throughout July and August."

so that's what we'll get of tim, only 9 episodes throughout all summer

Well everyone assumed it was the first vet we saw treating Schmiechal, and he was 40! But it wasn't, obviously, (Tim is 31, Sean is 26) ) maybe Ant thought it was, so he wasn't sure himself!

They are supposed to build these things up, though. That's what they go on shows for, a lot of the time!

That's very disappointing. I thought Sean WAS going to get a proper longish term boyfriend. They do need to pair him up IMO and give him some kind of proper private life other than interacting with the factory girls.
