i have no idea why everyone likes science, i hate him !!!! hes soo annoying and selfish, if he wins then ...what is the world coming to ?

well what about derek ?

Science has many faults, his main one due to lack of real communication skills and his shouting .... but get past those and he is the only person in the house who has any kind of morals or who can even tell right from wrong

I don't hate him at all but he doesn't know how to deal with conflict or when to let things lie. And, I think, Orlaith was right when she said that he either got too much attention or too little when he was growing up because he does seem to see loud arguments as in some way being an acceptable way to assert yourself and does seem to have a problem with being disagreed with. I like him when he's not shouting but I really hate people who shout when arguing. It's just ignorant hectoring by people whose main concern is to be right.

As for his morals, he has nicked food and stuff. I think they're all guilty of that and he's seemed quite happy to talk behind people's backs when he turns the volume down enough to be accepted into a conversation.

yeh i do agree. there is just something about him that i don't like. derek deserves to do better than science

Science is probably th eonly housemate in there that actually tells it like it is! He is also very caring ie he is the only one that really looks out for Makosi when shes down, he was the same with Sam when she was in there!
If he has an issue with someone he tells them rather than bitch behind their back!
ive always liked him but watching him defend himself against 5 grown men i have even more respect for him! Craig and derek are nothing but bullies imo..

He is funny, he is honest. I like the way he thinks for himself and isn't scared to stand up for himself. He has shown compassion, especially to Sam. He doesn't ass kiss. OK he is loud and sometimes his arguments make no sense but hey nobody is perfect...

The problem this year is there is so little decent competition for Science. The rest of them are all absolutely awful, except Eugene.

derek you must be having a laugh, in one week alone he has moved from bitching about orlaith to makosi to bitching about kemal to vanessa and makosi to bitching about vanessa with eugene to bitching about makosi to kemal to bitching about science with craig and anthony.

that is the last week alone.

Watch out for Eugene though ... he is turning into a right bitch too against Science ... he listens to Derek too much

As for somebody above mentioning he steals - Science stole a cigar ... it was not done in a nasty, sneaky, underhand type of way and he talked to other HMs about it - knowing it had been the wrong thing to do ....

However ... Science has never stolen food nor (worse!) hidden it away from others ....

Last night for example there were 2 bottles of champers left ... who were drinking them? Team Smug and new members in the LR ..... their thieving continues ... do the other HMs still have food in their drawers?

A little man with a big mouth.

He is popular because some people find him quirky (!!!!), I find him annoying.
He won't win IMO, Anthony will win - its a done deal. Science will come second. They are all such awful characters that none of them deserve to win, Anthony just happens to be least offensive and he's a looker.

Everyone doesn't like Science. For some reason he has the most supporters on here but that is probably because of group influence on DS and because it is an online medium - it's biassed young and male. He also seems to get a sympathy vote because FMs don't like other HMs and have taken his side, he is isolated and so frequently loses out in the house. He is also thought to be genuine - oh, yes, like his name!! Once they find Science is out of the house and back on his own they will tire of him pretty quickly - as indeed they will of all the others as is usual with BB.

Science is not as popular with very grown up people mainly because he behaves with some sigs of what people think of as arrested development -he is utterly baselessly full of himself (I am amazing etc) and incapable of not shouting like a seven year old having a tantrum right over everyone else about nothing at all. His life inexeperience, zero rating on social skills and immaturity make it impossible for me to imagine myself doing anything other than ignoring him, as the HMs do, were I ever to be sat next to him. You can't have a conversation with him, only a shouting monologue. I can't imagine him ever working in a team or reporting in to a boss.

Thank you. It would be easy to like him but the ranting is a large flaw in his character.

As I recall the incident, Science stole Derek's cigar and then made a big show of smoking it where he could be seen by the non-partying HMs, including Derek. My impression was that Science hoped Derek would see this performance and be upset. However, Derek seemed to assume that Science had been given the cigar by BB as one of the party treats.

The way in which Science tried to wind up Derek didn't seem to me to be particularly charming.

It's interesting that many FMs make such a big point about how honest Science is. However, he himself says that he's been in trouble with the police and has served a community service order. Source: his own video called Graffiti on this page. I don't know what Science did to get himself into trouble, but it would seem his record outside the House isn't unblemished.

I am completely fed up with Science. He is not honest, as he did steal Derek's cigar, and there is no excuse for that. He is also unbelievably rude... how can you admire someone who has no respect for anyone else yet demands it for himself?

If Science wants it, then it is ok in his head for him to have it - whether it is food, drink, ciggies etc. He uses other people's behaviour to justify his own - a very immature thing to do. To be honest I have little time for most of them in that house but Science is just a spoiled, silly little boy who desperately wants to be a man but has a very long way to go before he even gets close.

Lying, stealing, being incredibly selfish, thoughtless, non team player, egotistical........................No I think I can say I dislike him.
Science needs to stop shouting and start acting responsibly but then all the above is what some people like in him especially the weenies..........watch out for a glut of weenie Sciences walking round the streets! ........God help us all!

I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt and quite like him when he's reasonable.

He is now making it extremely hard for people to see past the aggression and keep justifying this young mans' behaviour.I dont even like Orlaith but could see her frustration.

IMO,since he realises he has firm supporters outside he now has the notion that we are enjoying his hollering and see him as honest,independent and non-conformist.I think he is milking it for all it's worth.

I think it is too late Kelstea - there are already so many young people on the streets who think they can behave exactly as they like, when they like. I blame the culture of 'blind respect' - I was always taught the you earned respect, you did not simply expect it no matter how you behaved.
