Thought this might be fun! Am not looking for people to list the old faves like The Birdie Song, Dozy Dozy Cheep Cheep, Long Haired Lover from Liverpool. Save Your Love, Orvilles Song or anything by Black Lace, just the five songs people dislike the most!

Anything by Kylie, westlife, innumerable ********ed boybands etc etc etc.Theres just so many you cant name them all.For example look at the top 10 in the charts and probably 8 of the songs are absoloutely awful.Hip hop and rock never get to their deserved place in the charts. Its a miracle that Nickleback are still in the top 10[or where when i last looked anyway]Decent music rarely stays more than a week or 2 in the top 10.

EXACTLY!
Just looked at this weeks UK singles' chart, (not midweek chart BTW) and I counted just 5 bands/artists in the TOP 20 that actually have some talent - who actually write their own music, play their own instruments, etc.

Onto my personal top 5 most hated songs and...
1. So Solid Crew - 21 Seconds
2. Liberty X - Just A Little
3. Nigel and Marvin - Follow Da Leader
4. Gareth Gates - Unchained Melody
5. *Nsync & Nelly - Girlfriend

Am I the only one who hates American Pie by Don Maclean? It lasts about half an hour and has 200 verses all the same. It just goes on and on. It's never-ending.

A true abomination of sound, no other, and I mean NO OTHER song has been butchered and killed sooooooooo much like the classic Bee Gees original!!!! I implore you all if you have a copy of this, burn it for the good of us all!!!

Just too horrible. :'( :'( :'(

I hate anything, by people who cover good songs ie. light my fire and Unchained Melody, anything covered by bands who don't write their own songs or play instruments.

As been said Rock doesn't get the recongition it deserves and good on Nickleback for a great song and album.

Bands who copy other peoples stuff and take the glory for it.

Like A1, their first hit was take on me by a-ha and their version was crap anyway.

Anything by Westlife because they could release a single of them all farting and it would get to number one.

and anything by people like Ja Rule or Fat Joe, especially that recent Fat Joe song which Radio 1 played to death.

And that Nickleback song was alright but not great. The first truly great number one of this year will be Oasis-Stop Crying Your Heart Out.

You know, looking at this thread, there was a time in the late 1980's when nearly evertything in the charts was great except Kylie. Today nearly everything in the charts is rubbish except Kylie - How times have changed...

The UK music industry are taking the wee wee out of Radio 1. A number of years ago a former Radio 1 controller decided to ban all records over 7 years old. So what happens now is that every song gets re-recorded by the latest group or remixed every 7 years so Radio 1 can still keep on playing it ... How sad!

A typical example is when A1 murdered A-Ha's classic "take on me". There are plenty of others I can think of.

On the whole, most bad records are bad cover versions. The only solution to this is to stop playing them and listen to the originals. Unless the new arrangement is vastly different and challenging, why bother?

If I were to list one record that I think is most horrible it would be "There's no one quite like Grandma" by the St Winifred's school choir - Now that is definately "Uncool!".

My Grandma sang on some dodgy songs in the 70s She worked for Jonothan King for a while and she did her worst stuff there.

One song in our collection which really makes me mad is Shaddap ya Face by Joe Dolce.

Hmpphh !!!

I think they were slightly overrated but your right-that new album cut is great.Good stuff much like they were making in their heyday in the mid 90s.Way better than the hindu times.
