I never claimed I was witty I was discussing the claim that science was witty.
Link for the science-isms thread please. Perhaps I will appreciate them written down as its quite hard to glean anything from Science's shouted pidgin english.

I don't like Dereks sneaky backstabbing, or Makosi's twofaced behaviour or Eugene's stories or Orlaith's wingeing, or Kemal's bitching, or Craig when he loses it but I'd rather live with any of them for 11 weeks than have to put up with Science's tantrums. I don't think they're threatened by him, they just can't stand the decibel level of his voice and his refusal to listen to anyone when he's in full flight.”

Science does listen to people. I have heard him listen and have an intelligent converstaion with Eugene. However, when it comes to Craig and his ilke, there is no intelligent conversation, and there is not intelect on Criags part I might add.
Science is quite capable of talking softly to people, and is notoften shown doing so. This afternoon for instance he was talking and supporting the two women who had become quite depressed by the situatiin in the house. He was understanding too.

Dwarf star? Actually, Anthony is the same height and more heavily built than Science.

Yes, I know he has good qualities and can see a lot of the manipulations and backstabbing that goes on in the house.
It's just that he can't take any sort of criticism and when he get's a bee in his bonnet he can't express what he wants to say without shouting other people down. I've watched
the live streaming as well and know that he has quiet conversations, but in the day to day running of the house he is extremely unreasonable and has no respect for other peoples boundaries. He reminds me of someone with Terets syndrome and I don't think it's his fault but it still must be very difficult to deal with.I think the HMs have done well not to lose their rags more often.

After last night he has gone up in my estimations. I am sorry they did not show on the HL the bitching that happened between Derek, Anthony, Kemal and Craig about Science, just before he walked inyo the room.

But the way he took them all on last night was magnificent and it also exposed Craig to be the vile person he is.

I keep reading that people really love science but I just can't understand it (although to be fair I can't understand 50% of what he says).

I'm really beginning to think that there must be something I'm missing! Watching him (especially on the live feed) just makes me angry.

I keep trying but no, I just can't seem to like the guy!

Except that he has admitted he was wrong and sincerely apologised on more than one occasion.. something I haven't seen many other housemates doing..

In fact he apologised to Orliath on Sunday for 'invading her space' when she was depressed..

Volatile, passionate, opinionated, yes. Able to admit he is wrong, yes...

Anyone that upsets Craig so much just by being inthe house deserves to stay. Craig's rant at Science was really amusing and just showed him uas the immature idiot we all know he is

I am not decided between Anthonty and him yet. He's got a good heart and some clear insights. He deserves at least the second place.

Science to Craig - "You think you're a God - you're a system fraud!!" classic .... it's a shame the others don't listen to what he has to say.

Unfortunately Science is just a very nasty, vile, loudmouthed thug.

People seem to excuse behaviour that if Maxwell had done, he'd be called all these things.

He has repeatedly rammed his finger in Roberto's chest (a guy who tried so hard with him), launched a bin at someones head, thrown anything Derek tried to do with him back in his face, proven time and time again to be an intolerable person who will only do what he wants (Romeo and Juliet) unless the producers ask him (some rebel?), thrown a glass of water at Kemal with a look on his face that suggested he wanted to punch him, and then last night spoke about how he was going to "terrorize" them.

He got the chance to play the lone wolf, taking it to the gang again. But some of us watched last night and saw how unreasonable he was with Anthony, never allowing him to get a word in, just like he never does with anyone. Some of us remember the way he spoke to Orla when she had to make him something. The guy cleverly picks on a group of people so that he gets to look like a hero when he screams abuse at all of them. When this doesn't happen, you see what he's really like... A nasty person who resorts to insulting people, and shouting over them.

I can't help but feel if he was not part of this young black rap culture, people would not make the excuses they do for him. Even Eugene is hoping Science starts a fight just so they can kick him out, such is the displeasure of living with the moron.

If you try hard, you may just see the positive side of him.

I understand that, but my feeling is that I'm not watching - or voting - for someone I could live with. I freely admit I couldn't live with Science but I would like him to win. I look at the HM's as they appear in the house and weigh up their good and bad points (which they all have, which anyone would have after 8 weeks of constant scrutiney) and to me Science is the one who comes out on top.

They're believing him to be something he isn't. That wayward character in a movie, that gets his shit together at the end and goes off to university, or to travel the world, or to get his girl, leaving his mentor (played by Sean Connery or Robin Williams) with a satisfied look on his face. The seem to forget that both Roberto and Derek tried, and got it thrown back in their faces repeatedly. Science's attempted mentor now says he's bordering on "hating him".

He is a bit of a one-man show - however, you only ever get one thing from him - childish, uncompromising but entertaining rants - he needs a bit more variety.

It is Derek that turned on Science, not the other way around. Do you not remember Derek's week-long tantrum about how "Science is no friend of mine", "I want nothing more to do with him for as long as I am in this house" and so on and so on.

There is nothing thuggish about Science. He was provoked by almost the entire house on Sunday night, and not once did he look like he was about to punch anyone. Compare that with Maxwell who looked like he could punch Science, even when Maxwell had 3 people backing him up and Science was alone!

Can you think of a single instance where an argument has been Science and other housemates ganging up and arguing with a single housemate? I can't, because it doesn't happen. Unlike the rest of the cowards in there, Science sticks up for himself, does so in a non-violent or threatening way, and sure, he's not perfect, and throwing the water was out of line (you are simply lying and twisting things by bringing up the bin because that was an accident), but compared with everyone else in there he is an angel.

I would agree that when he gets back to the outside world, he will find it a lot easier if he tones it down, takes more time to listen to opposing points of view, etc. But that wouldn't be nearly as entertaining as his arguing - so for Big Brother purposes, he doesn't need to change a bit. He's the perfect housemate as far as I'm concerned. It's also worth noting that Science has been right in almost every single argument he has had.

Believe me, I'm not a rabid Science supporter (I kept that for Roberto!) and can see his faults but would still like him to win -- but why should Science want to be mentored by Derek or anyone - he didn't ask for it but Derek expected him to drop down at his feet in gratitude. I think at the begining, Science did respect Derek for his age and experience and did listen to what he had to say but when he saw what Derek was like with regard to the general sneekiness of the man he gave it a miss.

You're right about Craig but Science is a stupid little boy who cannot accept that he is wrong sometimes. Shouting louder than the person he's arguing with just makes him look a ****.

Come on, Derek tried to make Science into what Derek thinks he (Science) should be - a clone of himself. Science doesn't have to Eliza Doolittle himself for that pretentious, stupid, pompous, sly, conniving old fool.

It's a credit to Science that he didn't go along with it.
