I noticed tonight that it isn't always that Science talks over people.Infact,as demonstrated by Anthony in the highlights show tonight..ANTHONY was the one trying to interrupt Science when he was speaking and when Science carried on talking as Anthony tried to butt in Anthony started saying "Science,Science..you'ré not listening".But if you look at the whole conversation Anthony was the one who wasn't listening and who wanted to butt in with his opinion rather than listening to what Science had to say first.

When you ask a question it's polite to wait for the answer before going on to your next rant.

I agree with your post and i don't think it was a rant, thats something a anti Science poster would say

He hadn't asked a question though. He was giving his side of things and rather than listening and letting Science finish what he was trying to say(however longwinded),Anthony was trying to interrupt with HIS point of view. When Science ignored Anthony's interruptions Anthony told Science he wasn't listening or wouldn't let him get a word in.But it was Anthony who had interrupted Science. Why not just let him get to the end of what he wanted to say and THEN reply?

Rubbish, Science shouts over people all the time. Anthony was trying and failing to get a word in edgeways, but once Science has a point to make you may aswell pop out put the kettle on and have a cup of tea, as he'll still be making it by the time you get back.

science doesn't let anyone else speak, he goes on one and when someone tries to correct or answer him, he shouts.

trouble is when a person doesnt stop talking for 8 weeks you have to interrupt sometimes if only to give the other person a chance to take a breath

There were a great many questions asked, but as is the usual with Science I'm sure he considered most of them rhetorical.

lol, so true.
He makes a point then just wont shut the hell up and let the other person speak, he either goes onto something else or just keeps repeating the same thing.
Someone needs to shut him up!!

Honestly ,please,if you get the chance,(and can be arsed ) just watch the repeat and see for yourself how Anthony keeps trying to interrupt.

Thats the thing..we'll never know because he rarely gets the chance to finish

And if you get the chance to watch the repeat, see how Anthony actually brings this up with Science in the LR and he admits it and says he doesn't mean to, he is just passionate about stuff...and then shuts up.

Remove the anti Science blinkers.

From tonight's highlights show, when asked to listen:

Science: "I DON'T WANT TO LISTEN!"

So there you have it. No need for anyone's opinion, just take it straight from Science's own mouth.

Even the Science fans are fighting a losing battle.

The guy is a nutter! Why does he rant and rave and why do people think he is so hard done by. All I can see is that he doesn't know how to have a rational conversation and I for one lose track of what he is saying. Having said that, I do think there is a kind side to his nature and all I can say is that if only he would kerb the rants and raves I would be a fan.

I don't think Science would have any right to complain anyway, not after going into a room where five people were having a conversation and then shouting over everyone.

Abit of both I think.
sometimes sci goes off on one and the other HM's can't get a word in edgeways.
other times people will speak over science because they feel his opinon doesn't matter.

I saw it live last night and the conversation between Ant and Science started to sound like it was going to sort things out, but Science would not stop. Infact, he asked Ant a question and when he tried to reply but couldnt get a word in.

I was saying that Science hadn't asked a question.I was replying to the poster who said:

One of Anthony's problems is that when he is given an opportunity to speak, he can't formulate an articulate answer or anything worth listening to.

Science reminds me of the preacher in Little Britain - you know.. 'I IS FROM THE GHETTO...YOU IS FROM THE GHETTO'.

He's from Leeds. not the Bronx, so why that ludicrous put-on voice.

What a fake.

They were both me. I'm glad we sorted that out and both completely understand what the other is trying to say

I dont believe anyone here could tolerate for long someone who insists on talking in rhyme. Id find it hard not to laugh at first, then it would just become annoying.
In fact Science doesnt just talk in rhyme, he SHOUTS in rhyme.
I think people would be more inclined to listen if he spoke in a more widely accepted and acknowledged way because he does talk sense at times unfortunately he preaches too much (as Anthony pointed out) and turns valid arguments into comical rhyming patter.

To quote your user name Whybother, we are obviously watching a different show. I'm sad enough to have watched the whole thing kick off yesterday afternoon on the feed, and the row went on for ages, and Science would not countenance any contribution from Anthony to the 'discussion'. With Science everything is a oneway conversation, it's him ranting until A: He runs out of words B: Gets Bored or C: Runs out breath, then its over, as he storms off in a huff, ( and I concede he is not the only HM to use the latter tactic, mentioning no names...erm Craig )
