derek is reallt bad. he plays a clever game. stabs people in the back, and only speaks as long as he needs to. that is so nobody gets any clues that he is not as clever as people have assumed he is.
when he does speak, or slow rant, he shows his limited abilities by the long time it takes him to formulate what he is saying. lots of repeated worlds with long pauses for even the most basic of arguments.

however as he keeps it short, and maintains his higher ground stance, people dont twig he is a fraud.

he also has a "huge past" of basically failing. but he spins it the other way round. eg "when i managed 120 people" - not when the business and him parted ways!! people like to hear the "5 times world champion" rather than "4 times dropped the ball and failed"

I can quite believe some of the nastier rumours about Derek, seeing the way he's manipulated and controlled people in the house. Science can see him for what he is, though. I want to see a Sci v Derek eviction showdown, with Derek getting about 98% of the vote

the problem is derek has a "branson" effect on some people
(most people have a view of branson that is very different to the version of him in the bower book, that even though 2 papers published "sue us then" sections of, he didnt.)

a lot of people think derek is the clever success he is not.

Tonight's Highlight show (deliberately???) failed to show Derek confronting Orlaith about things he had heard her say about him. In fact he mentioned several times yesterday that he was going to do so. Both he and Kemal had discussions yesterday about how it is always Makosi who repeats what Orlaith 'allegedly' says about them. Both D & K are starting to doubt Makosi's reasons for repeating these statements or if in fact they are true.

Derek didn't let Kemal down, Endemol decided not to show those who do not watch the live feed.

I found the Highlights show last night quite interesting - it was very pro Science and failed to show Makosi in the bedroom with Orlaith and Science. Science was fairly quiet and seemed ok. Makosi went into a 'rant' about other HM's, wanting to go home, can't take these people anymore etc., etc. Science became aggravated on her behalf and went to the Lounge looking for a ruck. Meanwhile, her work done, Makosi went to sleep. Also not shown in the Highlight show was Makosi saying how she was going to wait for all HM's to come into the bedroom and then say out loud who she was going to nominate this week and didn't care if BB threw her out for it. The reason for her rant, - she is losing the plot, is no longer in control of any HM's (although she is working big time on Science and he can't see it) and is no longer the centre of attention.

On the days I watch a lot of live feed, I find the next days Highlight show fascinating. Editing at its best (or should that be worse).

I agree that Derek has been pulling a lot of strings in the house, and he has been playing everyone else off against each other. But unlike most of the forum opinion, I don't mind or care. Deviousness is one of the qualities required to play the game well, and Derek has been simply masterful in playing the BB game.

When you look back at his position in the house a few weeks ago, when he garnered nearly every nomination, he has now inveigled his way into the affections of most of the remakining HM's. It is really only Science, Makosi and Orlaith who are against him now. Kemal, Craig, Anthony and Eugene have now become part of his little group. The real skill has been in not making it a permanent lets all sit around together group, but one in which he can flit around the house to the varying people, keeping himself mobile and staying out of the major confrontations, but just swooping in to mop up the emotional debris. I think he is great, he has brought badly needed wit, intelligence and quality sneakiness to the house.

Sadly I think it unlikely that derek will win, but he should be in the final four.

Slagging Science to Craig just before the big scrap Sunday night:

Derek: "I was glad that Maxwell asked me to speak on his behalf in that debate because I felt that what I was doing and saying was easy for me"

But on the day of the debate:

Derek: "Of course, I don’t mean a word of this"

The man is pure spite.

Some of you are funny you present the facts as they were and still you post your own version of events when they have been proved to be not true.

You have to be kidding. He loathed Max and said so many a time even going so far as to accuse him and his flunkies of prejudice.

Set aside your blatant bias and see the truth.

Im pretty sure ant could of kicked off with him but hes just not the sort to do that, either that, or hes playing a bloody good game

Just because he did one of his sly sniggers when he said it doesn’t mean he didn’t mean it. He despised Max and is only bigging him up now to get Craig and Ant to turn on Science.

You’re blind if you can’t see that!

Can anyone have a different opinion, I think all the housemates have bad faults its been that sort of BB, but this whole thread started on a misrepresentation of the truth, so I would suggest its not me thats blind.

I'm hoping it will be a Science vs Derek showdown this week but i think Makosi might be up to so unless people see sense and vote out Derek we will be stuck with him till the end.

I agree - I think Derek realised that Kemal made a bad move by confronting her in front of everyone - Derek can be sly but I think on this occasion kemal misinterpreted his advice, and went off on a tangent.

Kemal's speeech also sounded really unconvincing....'Maksi and I have been friends for a long time...'

Unbelievable considering their relationship has disintegrated before our eyes.

I always think of Dirk as being the Iago figure in the house, plus the fact that he can speak quietly and slowly, appearing to give a lot of measured thought to what he says nex, lends more of an air of authority to what he says, and makes him more convincing to those who aren't seeking to question the reasons for his actions
