Craig Gets Death Threat
oilcat
19-07-2005
From the front page of todays Daily Star (Scotland). I cant find the link online so Ill type the gist of it.

Quote:
“DEATH THREAT TO BIG BRO CRAIG
A maniac has issued death threats to Big Brother star Craig Coates while hes holed up inside the telly house.
A chilling phone call was made to the 20 year old hairdressers home leaving his family terrified for the lads safety.
A crazed caller rang his family and issued a chilling warning that they want to do away with the outrageous wannabee.
Telly bosses are trying to play down the matter for fears of causing panic or sparking copycat calls .
His parents who have been watching his antics were shocked and frightened by the message on their answerphone
Last night a Norfolk Police spokesman said "we have been alerted to a telephone message left on an answerphone at the family home and have investigated"
It is not known whether the caller is angry about Craig's flourishing business or his flamboyant behaviour”

Bloody scarey when people take a reality TV show to this level!

<EDIT> Sorry I see there is another thread on this, it had dropped to page three and I didnt notice it

A spokesman for the family added: "At the end of the day, he aren't a provoking starter."

To be honest, I think there's more chance of him being assassinated in there than on the outside

Hehehehe. But the threat is really not on though. I mean I'm the first one to say he sets my teeth on edge and he needs to be OUT of the house but I'm way off wanting to kill him. How anyone can get that hateful over someone is beyond me. I guess that main purpose of the threat was attention.

pretty low of someone to make a death threat

but there are some knobheads about who think its clever to hide behind a phone

no matter if you hate craig(he is a twazzock) there is just no excuse for threats to his family

Whoever made the threat, isn't very smart, leaving it on the answer phone. Phone call tracing is pretty good these days.

Anyway, if the threat turns out to be real. He'll just have to hire a couple bodyguards to stand outside his hairdressing shop.
Maxwell & Saskia? Perfect !!

Agreed a threat is a step too far.

That certainly gave me a giggle on an otherwise grumpy morning!

But still, what are people like?? I couldn't believe it when I heard it on the radio this morning. Mental.

I thought it's getting harder to trace calls with all the unregistered mobile phones around.
It's probably some crank having a sick joke, I seriously doubt someone would risk a lifetime behind bars over a game show contestant.

Taking the trouble to find out Craig's parent's phone number doesn't sound like a prank to me?! I would have thought they would have gone ex-directory or changed their number once he got on the show so that they didn't get calls from fans/cranks, this is what most pop stars who find overnight fame do (e.g. Take That, Spice Girls).

For somebody to go to the effort of finding their number (which also suggests they have the address too) and then going through with making a threatening phone call it would suggest it is more than a prank. Thank goodness his mum didn't answer the phone or the caller may have said a lot worse that would have really shaken her and their wouldn't have been a record of it on the answerphone.
