Shades of Sophie

Watching the highlight show last night and how three of the HM's ganged up on Orlaith, while others just sat round and said nothing, brought back memories of Adele, Jade and Tim's bullying of Sophie in BB3. What is the problem HM's have with pretty rivals, are they that insecure with themselves they have to resort to playground tactics?? Again last night on the live feed, Makosi and Kemal's plan to steal Orlaith's make up bag just reinforces that view. Orlaith (and Sam's) make up is obviously as important to them as Makosi's wig or Kemal's stilletos, how would they like their possessions stolen and hidden??

I can see Makosi and Kemal recieving the amount of public vitriol as Adele did in BB3, or is last week's eviction twist with Makosi being saved another manoevre by BB towards damage limitation for Makosi, much the same as they did with Jade?

I agree with you, Moogster. And I see that the Science was involved.

Its that 'newcomer' thing - i thought Orlaith and Eugene had escaped the phenomenon but Orlaith is copping it big style. To be fair though, she has bitched alot, something which Sophie never did.

I said the same last night to my wife. I suppose the only difference was that Sophie had not bitched about anyone else at all. Orlaith has had plenty of sessions bitching and stirring. Nevertheless, I did feel for her last night. When you actually listen to what she has to say her analysis of each HM particularly Mak, Kemal and Derek was spot on. She is certainly no dumb bunny.
I mean why did Kemal have to do it in front of everyone anyway. Was good to see the tables turn on him a bit.

She hasn't helped herself in gaining favour with the public like Sophie did, as like you say she has been involved in a lot of bitching. I kind of put this down to the fact that she had to get in with the bigger group (Team Diva) and therefore to be accepted make it clear who she did or didn't like. (whether she means it of not I don't know)

However, bullying is not acceptable and that is exactly what the likes of Kermal and Makosi are subjecting her too. She seems to me to be losing confidence by the day. Like someone else said she is spot on with her assessment of the housemates in the diary room, and yet she still tries to hang around with makosi.

At the moment I believe Orlaith isn't being treated half as badly as poor Sophie was in BB3. Orlaith's mistake was to diminish what I saw as a nice personality in the SG to fall in line with the mainstream in the house, and that is what she is now getting slated for by the HM's. If she'd stayed neutral then she would have had more public backing! I don't think Orlaith can win anyway she plays it though because of the attidudes/personalities of the other HM's!

Because Derek convinced him to do it in front of the others...he wound Kemel up like a little toy and pointed him at Orlaith and let him go

I think that is part of the problem - I would have real sympathy with Orlaith, but unfortunately she has shown herself to be fairly unpleasant herself at times.

She made a mistake the other day when she screamed at Science for singing if you're happy and you know it....I can't really understand her motivation, but she went way over the top there, and did herself no favours by setting herself up so publilcly against Science.

I felt sick watching the show last night.
What a vile bunch, such bullies!!

There is noone nice left at all.

But particularly Kemal is a horrid guy!!
He has no backbone, and thinks hes so clever.

They have ALL bithce behind one anothers backs.
He bitches about Makosai ALL the time.
And yet attacks Orlaith for saying somehting about him.

Any remote respect I had for him I've lost.

Orlaith had already been massively influenced by Makosi before she went into the actual house as to which HM's she should and shouldn't like, out of all the twists over all 6 series of BB this one has to be the most unfair. Why should one Hm have two days to imprint their opinions on two new HM's? I am not saying Orlaith hasn't bitched off her own bat, because she has, but when she first went into the house the main bitching was about Maxwell and Saskia - Makosi's two mortal enemies. This early induction into house politics by Makosi had to have coloured Orlaith's actions and alliances in the house.

I am sure that comes out of insecurity and that no matter how much she knows what they are like then if she can get acceptance she will. The incident in question was one where she had come out of the DR and kemal and Makosi had had their spat. Orlaith then made herself available as friend/sounding board to Makosi I would imagine to make herself feel better. It's really sad actually. I feel sorry for her

I hated the Sophie bullying time - spoilt BB3 for me

Surely BB have a duty to stop it getting out of hand

Orlaith entered the house bitching. Whatever unpleasant things someone says, she'll at least match it. Although I don't like Derek, when Makosi came up with the idea that he was a butler Orlaith was right in there. She's since said that he's lying about having worked in the House of Commons and is lying about his flat in Knightsbridge. She's said that Kemal was lying about his situation with his parents. She bandies about accusations of stealing. This is all very nasty stuff that relates to people's outside lives. BB is desperate to keep the two women so she's getting a sympathetic edit, but she's certainly no Sophie.

Perhaps they think they can make a million pounds by bullying someone in the house and then get the producers and agents to explain it all away and ignore it.

According to another FM on here there is a double spread in the Express saying that Makosi is the most hated housemate ever If she carries on the way she is the public's reaction to Adele will have been a walk in the park.
