I'm still watching it, but hasn't it become hard to watch?

Last night's highlights show was just loads of people shouting at each other and being vicious. Even if someone has been really annoying, can it be right for everyone else to sit in a room and openly be abusive towards you?

No-one in there is even civil towards each other. I'm sure BB used to be more subtle, with the intricacies of relationships - now "normal" civilisation seems to have broken down.

At work or in your street, if you dislike someone, you tend to avoid them or maybe be a bit offhand with them - you don't shout abuse at them.

Am I taking it too seriously? I just find it a bit upsetting and can't think it's doing most of them much good mentally.

I've been trying to think what I dislike about the current BB, although I still watch it and enjoy parts of it.
Theres just no "joy" at all in the house, I can't really explain it any other way. It's relentless in it's depiction of the worst sides of the human character.

Honestly, I'm just sticking around to enjoy seeing Makosi get dumped on her arse

And to see Science hopefully get booted out, or just decked.

If these things do not happen, I'll be sent into a deep depression that will last months.

The hyporcrisy of Derek and Craig are just painful to watch. Both need a slap, as both seem to think that they are entertaining. They are cruel and just can't see it.

I agree. I am find it increasing less interesting to watch. This is contrary to previous years where I have found I get more into the show as time goes on. Usually you start to get to know and like, or dislike, the characters more as time goes on and generally care how they are all getting along on a daily basis. This year, as time has gone on, I find I'm not really that bothered how they all are.

Also, if you miss a day or so of live feed you have usually missed an argument between several people and it is hard to catch up with who now gets on with who.

They are all turning on each other like a pack of savage animals. I remember fondly when HM's used to have a laugh together. BB6 has been a total bitchfest from day 1. The producers have picked a bunch of highly disfunctional, nasty characters with zero redeeming qualities. None of them deserve to win.

science is the only housemate who is remotely entertaining

voting him out would be a DISASTER.

Why not try positive thinking...

A friend asked me what happened last night and I didn't have the energy to go into it, so I just said it was Lord of the Flies - House edition.

None of the HM's seem to grasp the irony in bitching about other HMs bitching about other HMs bitching about............

Exactly the same thought ran through my head when I was watching it - it was sickening at times (and I'm not being overly dramatic - I really felt that way!!!

I think I'm still watching it because I've joined this Forum and because I have the time on my hands this year and can't do anything much else.

I watch incase I miss anything, or to see things on the highlights show that I've read about here, and not because it's a good programme

You've hit the nail on the head for me with your 'lack of subtlety' remark. I've already said this morning, that I find most of the housemates are stereotypical caricatures, rather than multi-facetted personalities, and deliberately chosen to be so imo.

But with moments of comedy - like when Kemal started on Orlaith and used the exact words Derek had told him to use. Or when a hairdresser from Norfolk compared himself to God.

I totally agree. Usually I love BB - last year's was just wonderful, and I have a whole group of friends and colleagues who I usually discuss it with but this year they've mainly turned off or watch it sporadically like I do. I agree with your assessment of the housemates. It's so depressing when you realise there's not one person in there (and hasn't been from the beginning) that you actually like. I don't want any of them to win - they're all obnoxious, quarrelsome, selfish, dysfunctional and thoroughly unpleasant. Does anyone get the feeling this represents the wider buzz about the show this year? A friend of mine says she doesn't hear the usual BB chat on her morning bus this year and I wondered if people's perception was that it wasn't as popular this year.

They need more tasks. The constant bitchfest has become tiresome viewing

Even if they DO give them tasks they just f*ck them up, which causes more arguments with everyone blaming each other, so its totally counter productive.

BB helped create this in week one when Makosi had to get the most nominations it made it the norm in the house to rant and bitch and be selfish.

They gave them no time to naturally make friends and enemies as the game started on day one while usually they gradually ease into it.

For BB to survive in the future it can go one of 2 ways IMO

Get normal non-wannabe people (difficult to do) and go back to the more "social experiment" side of things

or

Go the USA BB route, allow compete manipulation and nomination discussion and get rid of the crowds and public votes, making it a real gameshow as opposed to the public hate fest we now have.

True - but at least it gives us viewers a bit of variety, don't you think?

I felt the same way.Sick to my stomach
Nothing he has done justifies them behaving like that.I don't like Craig and he has said and done some nasty things but I wouldn't want to see him ganged up on like that either.

It's hard to watch for me because I can't keep up with it all! Very confusing this year, I wish they'd all just tell each other what they REALLY think of each other and be done with it!
