When you click on the quote button it copies all the post, you can then just delete the bit you don't want to include

Very true - I can't stand hearing HM's say that phrase, Its so insulting to the other HM's and the viewers as to me it always translates into "how much longer do I have to endure this before I can claim the £100k which is rightfully mine"

I just hope that Science does pick up something from the BB experience that helps him along the way of achieving his potential, and I don't mean the fame.

The other night euegene was giving him advice such as learning to drive and getting good insurance. Personally i think he could make some money replacing that old bloke on the tv who sells insurance and says "dont worry its only an advertisment its not real"

I've known Eugene for many years, I would like to say that the above is wrong! Eugene has always been the instigator of most things that we do socially and is generally the centre of most activities.

At times I find it hard to see Eugene because of the amount of time he spends doing things with people, I end up being on the outside!

I cheat for getting the part of the quote I want Jenni: I just delete the parts I don't!

Pestpatrol: I disagree about the BB formula is about evolving. What makes BB is the people on it, and the interaction between their personalities. With their current selective selection possibilities they are whittling down the possibility of getting different personalities, which is why (imo) the last two series have not worked as well as any of the last four. With less "personalities" in the house than they currently select the likelihood of seeing genuine interaction the same between twelve people as on other series is minimal. We all have different personalities, and if you do not crowd the house with dominant types you are more likely to see different aspects of people, rather than the state of competition we currently see.

Jenni: I'm not sure I agree with you fully on Science. Yes, he knows how to get to people but I think most of what he does is a gentle wind up and his way of getting on with people. Look at his interaction with Makosi for this. However, when people annoy him he turns this ability up tenfold to antagonise them. Sadly what he cannot do is see when people are trying to help him when he gets his blinkered glasses on, and tends to get too confrontational. In addition he has a very strong viewpoint on what is right and wrong, and when he thinks someone, or a group, are wrong, he feels that as they have stepped over the mark they have lost their immunity to him not doing the same to them.

It's only insulting when they clearly do not mean it (see Derek).
I have no trouble with the phrase when the HM is clearly upset over something (see Sam) in the house, as it is such a closed environment the HM's do not have the comfort blankets we out in the real world have.

Sorry but nonsense in my opinion. Every HM's comfort blanket is the wooden door with the "back exit" label on it. No one has forced them into BB and no one is forcing them to stay.

I think that is precisely the problem. most of the "dominant" characters are very one dimensional. If you put a more rounded character up against them they don't have the chance to develop and interact.
I call it the curse of the TV ratings. There is no way that you could repeat BB1 or 2 or 3 with similar characters and attract the same viewing figures.

On leaving the house, I think if it was that easy far more people would have walked. You also have to consider the fear of being considered a failure for walking.

On HM selection I think Jade Goody has a lot to answer for. I thought she was dreadful and really wanted her out of the house. I clearly did not vote enough, and she appears to have dictated the style that HM's now try and act in.

I think it would work better with purely random selection!

Well guess what, IMO he still is.

He doesn't seem to understand that he isn't in the house now because everyone there likes him and invited him - he is there because the producers liked him and Makosi was afraid of Kinga's charms. I thought he had potential when he first came in to be a maverick winner but he is now out-sliming them all.”

I agree with your analysis of Eugene. At first I thought he was an innocuous liberal but I think he is a cold calculating individual who is socially inept and has been an outcast Because of this, to see someone else who is (to his way of thinking), worse than himself has riased his game. He is only aware of himself - hence the tears in diary room but no real empathy for others. His hounding of Science has been dreadful when you remember that Science befriended him when he first came in. Science is a little socially inept but he can empathise with people.

I don't agree with your analysis of Makosi and Kinga. From watching her reaction to Kinga. I think she was worried about her age and her smoking habit. Lets face it Kinga was so complimentary to Makosi, if she had wanted another supporter, Kinga was the obvious one. Makosi played the game and brought Orlaith to upset Saskia.

I haven't agreed with your written or verbal analysis of Makosi. In my view she is the very best contestant this year - not perfect but head and shoulders above the rest. No allowance has ever been made for her, where excuses have been made fot others but not Makosi. She made the mistake of being too big a character but why should she shrink to others size.

I also believe racism is still alive in and out of house.

I wouldn't disagree with you there!

There seems to be an assumption that just because Eugene is a bit "geeky" (for want of a better word) and has hobbies that some people find boring that he must also be highly intelligent.I don't think that's the case.I'm not saying that he has below normal intelligence but from what he's demonstrated so far he seems to fall into the "average to slightly above average intelligence".I haven't seen anything that's made me think he is particularly gifted or exceptional.

And it might well lead to him losing some of the fans he did have.

So you think that if Eugene was a part of the 'cool' gang normally then it would be okay for him to pick on Science, and you wouldn't pick on him for doing what all the other housemates are doing?

Most unfair Jenni and not becoming to your place as part of BB.

Has it occurred to you that Eugene may not be able to see any other way of being with this group of bitches other than by becoming a bitcher himself. Would you prefer that he sits alone in silence?

Science is old enough and contrary enough to stand up for himself and he doesn't need people patronising him as poor little Science and saying let's pat him on the head and be totally condescending to him.

He picks his own battles and walks away when he has enough. Eugene is not stupid enough that he doesn't realise he will be on the hit list as soon as others have gone. Let him have his day in the sun. It will soon be over.
