Make sure you don't go through life judging people by stereotypes though. You will miss out on meeting good people and make friends with the wrong kind too.

Why should people waste thier time "coaching" him?

Some people are just not nice people, science isn't a nice person. In the real world he is going to be left behind, in the real world people dont waste thier time coaching arrogant adults who should know better.

His coaching days are over, its time for him to be left behind if he can't change his ways on his own..
He is an adult now, stop making out hes a child with behavioural issues.

Ok Sid who out of the housemates have been nice people. I am interested in your views.

He does me and that is possibly the difference between Science likers and dislikers. If you wrote his words down and read them out quietly they would probably not be intimidating. Because I react to verbal abuse in much the same way as the threat of physical abuse (i.e. fight or flight ..... flight everytime!) I do find him aggressive and intimidating. Its his body language and his permanent frown when spouting non stop. In the diary room he is an absolute poppet! That's the Science I would listen to in the house, not the loud and abrasive one that the HMs see.

I dislike the child a lot freckle. All i was saying is that he'd only shout at me a couple of times before realising that its the wrong way to go about things. He'd soon learn, the hard way unfortunately.

Anthony is probably the only person who has been honest, loyal and upfront in the house..
Hes not the smartest person ever, but smart dosn't equate nice.
He is the only one I would trust.

I judge the housemates in the same way that I would judge my friends and the reason I've gone off Science is that he demands too much energy. He can be loyal and honourable but he seems to eat up the group energy, at the same time he puts little back.
I think it is deeply patronising for you to assume I dislike Science as he is somehow 'stereotypical' of the negative portrayal of black youth. What about black people who don't like Science? I'm old enough and clever enough to make my decisions without the influence of a supposed media bias.
I think Science will turn out fine in a few years though, he's an intelligent young man who is at present discovering the power of his mind. The problem is he now needs to become as interested in others as he is in himself.”

you beat me to making the very same point myself
Science has got some really good character traits but needs to learn alot more about himself, the best way he can do that is by taking note of other people and thats where the sticking point is with him. I have no doubt he'll turn out fine in the end, but I would not want to be the person accompanying him on that road - It'd do my head in

So to be honest about disliking Science has to be because he reinforces your view of a stereotypical young black male? What a strange thing to think.

I don't dislike Science, as I have never met him, but I do dislike the behaviour he has displayed in the house. He says he shouts to get people to listen, but all I see is someone shouting because he is not getting what he wants - which is for people to allow him to behave as he pleases, regardless of the impact this may have on others. What inevitably happens is that people stop listening at all, which of course can often make the situation worse.

It is Science's 'I want' attitude that I find wearing, and has nothing to do with age, race or gender.

I have already have a poster who said that Science is a stereotypical black male. Check the posts.

So whilst many of you would never thionk that way in a million years, there are plenty that do. My post fished out one of them.

He's had 54 days to 'grow on me' and that is more than enough.

How dare you play the race card by saying anyone who dislikes Science, does so because they see him as a stereotypical black male. I dislkie him because he is annoying, selfish and quite frankly boring.

I want Derek to win but even if he doesn't win he will do a damm sight better than Science.

I think your post fished out a troll - we all know they exist on this forum.

Calm down you got 1 out of 35 or so (and I think that one was taking the p***). I don't think 1 is plenty and I think you are searching for something that you will not find.

what I am most amazed about is seeing Science's family and then comparing them with Science ..... he seems so different - science's father looked and sounded fantastic ... where did those genes go ... and where did the gene that controls the volume switch go when Switch was developing .... definitely missing ... he gives the appearance of believing that if you keep the volume steady and high then you drown out anyone that disagrees -all that happens is they go underground and stop communicating with you - not a good trait for a young guy to take into his future -

If it's Science up this week he'll stay because he will be up against someone like Orlaith who is universally not supported ... but I would be sad if he won .... nah ... I'll change that - fine he can win - frankly none of them are special this year.

Thats right, because there are no predjudiced posters on this forum at all.

I fished out one and I know there are more, but they hide away as they are scared of the responses they will recieve.

BB6 highlighted race this year and it will not go away either, so like it or lump it.

I am not hiding and I am not scared of posting about things that others shy away from.

Just remember my name and don't read my posts.

The thing is that if you look below the surface he hasn't set out to cause any trouble, he has just defended himself when picked on. Also listen to what he says and you will be surprised to hear that alot of the time he speaks very wisely. Science does have his bad points, but let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

See, now this is exactly the sort of superior attitude I've seen displayed around here over the last few days by a few of Science's fans.

It is ridiculous of you to suggest some people who do not like Science don't like him because of his colour. He comes across as loud because he is loud, no other reason. I think one of the other reasons people dislike him is because he refused to let the argument drop on Sunday night. He followed Anthony and Craig around and wouldn't let it drop. He was edited very favourably on the highlights last night, in my opinion, because it didn't show him going from the Living Room, back to the Kitchen and then to the LR again to continue the argument instead of letting it rest.

People are entitled to their opinions and just because you may not agree with them, it is shameful to suggest that people dislike him because of his colour and to stereotype.

Read Precknoo's first post again. This whole thread is a wind up.

And a pretty good one too.

I'll read your posts because I think you're funny .
I imagine you sat on your virtual riverbank, dangling your stereotype in the water and wondering why the racists aren't taking the bait.
You asked for honest opinions- we gave them- you choose to ignore them because you are waiting for the one that fufils your assumptions.

This thread's back-fired hasn't it?
All the anti-Science members have come out in force, the very ones you tried to dismiss as racists.

You are a disgrace.
