Science has no social skills?

He appears to have none. Should we pity him, i.e. he hasn't been taught how to interact, or is he so up his own backside that he doesn't feel it necessary to get on with people? He thinks he knows everything, which is a major character flaw, whether you love or loathe him. There isn't a person on this Earth who can't learn - only the most annoying amongst us believe they are never wrong.

I don't watch BB as much now, Max was my favourite - I thought and still do that Max was the natural winner of this show. The show finished when he left, the dynamics changed for the worst.
It's interesting for me to watch it now, being a supporter of none of them, to see Science (who, like Max, they all heard get major cheered) getting the same treatment as Max did, they all thought Science wasn't a threat and now they've realised he is. So, he is getting all the accusations the HM's and latterly the FM's threw at Max - homophobic, racist etc. They are making sure he won't win, and since they succeeded with Max, there is every chance Science will be out on Friday.
What a shame the decent people (Max, Roberto et al) didn't get given a chance because people like Makosi (who is plain nasty through and through) were deemed 'entertaining' by both BB and the GBP.

I wonder if the BB producers chose Science because they knew he had a volatile temperament? Of course they did.

Science has social skills, but he's sharing the house with a crowd of absolute morons who are intent on belittling him at every turn. They hate the fact that he'll stand up to them, not kiss arses and not care a damn about being up for eviction against any one of them. They fear him, that's what it comes down to. They can't believe that he was cheered loudly last week.

Science has shown on numerous occasions that he can interact perfectly well with other HMs when they behave in a civilised manner.

Im sorry but shouting "shut up" and "im not bothered" every 30 minutes when others dont agree with him is indeed a sign of having none or very few social skills.

For someone with no social skills, Science has managed a surprisingly large number of touching gestures during this series, such as giving Sam that flower before she left and singing Dry Your Eyes to Lesley.

No, no. Don't drag me into your childish group mentality. I liked Max, and Roberto was alright. I don't dislike Science anymore than any of the others. I am watching and drawing my conclusions from what I have seen.

Why didn't you just add this on to one of the many anti science threads

Or why didn't you just use the search option because people have said this before

Someone's not thinking are they

I didn't say he was heartless, I said he had no social skills

What's compassion if it's not a social skill?

No, you appear not to be. There are many threads about Science just now, I haven't duplicated. And you must allow for those of us who do not spend every spare minute on the forum
You aren't a moderator either, I am sure they will pull my thread if they feel it irrelevant.

Social skills mean relating to human society and how it is organised.
IMO, you must be watching a different programme if you think the above applies to Science.

Do you think its amusing or right for Maxwell to shout chill Winston in a mock Jamaican accent to Science?

Is that a good example of how to apply social skills by your favourite housemate? Maybe a good example of social skills is to put scabs in someones food. How about playing with a toilet brush or shagging in a room full of people when you have a private room you can go to.

Hopefully Maxwell can teach Science all these wonderful social skilss when Science gets out.

I think part of Science's problem is that he lacks life experience. I know that he said he's never been on holiday. I also have the impression that he's never lived out of home. Most of the moderating skills that people have by his age have been learned by having to get out - travel, go to university, live away from home, make a career haven't been part of his experience. Most of us mix in different circles and learn to get along through such experiences.

He's a bit old for his level of social development, but I don't think that's just because he's unable to gain social skills.

And before anyone points out about his being on BB, I hardly think that would be the arena. Even those with adequate skills in the real world appear to be regressing.

Sometimes I wonder if I am watching the same show.

Science has more manners and integrity than any of those other idiots in that house. Atleast you know with him he will never bitch or stab you in the back. That is what I look for in a person.

Go and do a search on your relevant subject and you will see that you have just repeated what millions of other people have said.

I'm being frank, it's getting boring

Let what go - you dragged up the Max stuff, I never bummed Max up, I said he was my favourite - full stop.
It's amusing (for me) that you think I am pointing out Sciences lacking because of Max!!?? I'm not a silly little girl, and I don't judge by my own standards either It's a game show, I'm merely asking others views - not in order to diss them by the way, just because I'm interested. That is what the forum is for you know

You learn social skills in the home, though - it's not necessary to have a rich life to have an ordered sense of propriety. I can think of other young, working class BB housemates who were much thicker than Science, but had a better idea of how to move in group situations. Sometimes he just performs for attention like a demanding toddler, in Hyper Jade Mode, it's very strange.

That's quite true, but I think it's necessary to experience something of the world outside your home to learn and adapt. Science is within his own comfort zone always, apparently only mixing with familiar people.

Most have had other experiences by his age.

Even getting out, finding a job and moving into a house share is something and wouldn't be dependant on being wealthy, but you would have to learn to accomodate others and adjust to the unfamiliar.
