What is a little alarming is that many FMs seem to mean exactly what they say when they use words like "hate" or"evil". Too many of them seem to lose sight of the fact that Big Brother is just a silly television programme.
It's a cliché to say that some FMs need to get out more, but maybe they do.
Incidentally, I posted this story the other day:

Finally, the confirmation we all needed: watching Big Brother live on TV or online is bad for you.
Glasgow Caledonian University researchers tested viewers who tuned in to Big Brother for just a total of six hours - two hours a day spread over three days.
They found alarming side effects in their mental health, including increased levels of anxiety, depression and hostility.
But when the same people were asked to watch bland daytime TV instead they reported virtually no ill effects (aside from boredom and an odd desire to make-over their house, obviously).
The researchers specialising in television-related research, were commissioned to carry out the study by the Mail on Sunday newspaper.”

At the time I thought the story was a bit daft, but maybe it's not so far from the truth!
