The Best England Song To Be Re Released!
The brilliant and by far the best england song ever will be released on monday, which is World In Motion by New Order.

Best footie song of all time it certainly is but I cannot see the point of rereleasing a 12 year old track with John Barnes rapping on it. How is this relevant to the World Cup of 2002? (unless of course it is to show the pisspoor Ant and Dec how a proper footie record should be done????

As for John Barnes rapping, the chances are that anyone hearing the song who didn't originally will not know it's him; they'll probably think that it's some kind of generic rapper brought in. I can't see it doing that well though, as I haven't seen anything about the song being rereleased in the media at all, and to be fair, it does sound every so slightly dated now I think. |

Shouldn't that be in the oxymoron thread? |

Nah, it's because it's clearly the least stanky WC tune yet! What on earth is the video by the two geordie coneheads about? Surely they, of all people, can afford to go out to Japan/S. Korea? Why do they need to resort to kidnapping and fraud? And aren't they bothered about jeopardising England's chances? |

Must be the only one on the planet who doesn't like this as a song, esp Barnes' attempts at rap. Being better at it than Beardsley or Waddle doesn't make him good. I do enjoy like its association with the England World Cup of 1990. It's a nothing song really, with an irritating bass line.
Best song btw is without doubt Back Home, by the 1970 squad. There's a song and a half.

Baddiel can't sing, Skinner can (to an extent)... but I never thought Three Lions was that good, so that's why I choose "World In Motion" over Three Lions

whilst not strictly speaking an english song, the best ever football song was, as everyone here I'm sure knows, was *We Have A Dream* by the Scottish 1982 world cup squad......which other nation would aspire to win the world cup on with a bleedin' penalty.....
still, it got higher in the charts than the english tosh ![]() Iain |

(1) Lightning Seeds - 3 Lions
(2) Fat Les - Vindaloo (3) New Order - World In Motion All the ones that came out for this world cup are rubbish, so in this case its the old ones that are the best |
